I am pleased to announce that the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority has secured $238 million in bonds to support major projects under the MoreRNO Infrastructure Program, including new concourses and the RNO Police Department and RTAA Headquarters projects. Demand for these bonds was over 11 times the amount offered, showing strong confidence in RNO’s future. We’re grateful for the guidance and expertise that BofA Securities provided our team. The expansion significantly enhances the traveler experience as the first completed phase of the airport’s billion-dollar, multi-year MoreRNO Infrastructure Program. The newly designed Ticketing Hall now serves as the modern “front door” to the Reno-Tahoe region, with a design inspired by the natural landscapes of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding high desert. This week, Chair Jennifer Cunningham and I had the great pleasure of welcoming Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Senator Jacky Rosen and Senator Catherine Cortez-Masto to RNO. Their visit was a special opportunity to showcase our plans to build an innovative geothermal system, which will power a hybrid electric centralized utility plant (E-CUP) as part of our MoreRNO Infrastructure Program.   We’re proud to be among the first to embrace this forward-thinking approach, ensuring greater efficiency and sustainability for our new concourses. The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority is immensely grateful to the Secretary and our Senators for their strong support and the federal funding that is making this project possible. Your commitment to our airport and community is invaluable and greatly appreciated!

Reno-Tahoe Airport Authorityy (RNO) opened a newly expanded Ticketing Hall in April, doubling its queue space with an additional 10,000 square feet. Beyond adding more room for queues, the Nevada airport also remodeled and upgraded its existing 35,000-square-foot hall with new public restrooms, ticketing kiosks, wayfinding signage and space for oversized baggage. A higher ceiling brings in natural daylight, improved sightlines and aesthetics—as well as more energy-efficient lighting. The expansion is the first completed phase of the MoreRNO Infrastructure Program, the airport’s billion-dollar, multi-year project aimed to meet growing demand for air travel in the area. Today marks a significant milestone for northern Nevada’s economic landscape with the grand opening of the Airway Commerce Center by Tolles Development Company. Located southeast of the airport, this new development brings 890,000 sq ft of versatile space, including offices, showrooms, warehouses and light manufacturing. This project highlights a successful collaboration between Tolles and the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, transforming a long-vacant site into a vital commercial hub.   Congratulations to Tolles on this impressive achievement!
