Our mission thrives on the sense of community and pride that our waste warrior team brings to work every day. Let us introduce you to Indrapradhan. Indrapradhan is one of the dedicated waste warriors from Project Sada Shakti in Bengaluru, India, a project we run with Saahas Zero Waste. He shares how things have improved over time. With better equipment, like additional baling machines and conveyor belts, the team can now recover more plastic—up to 200 kg, with 250 kg in sight. The improved working conditions, including safety gear like helmets, gloves, masks, and shoes, have made the job less stressful and more efficient. Indrapradhan’s story shows how empowering waste warriors with the right tools and support leads to cleaner cities, and brighter futures for workers, their families, and their communities. 🌍💪

“People questioned why I was collecting plastic from rivers, wondering if I was crazy! Now, they understand the importance of my work” Meet Honfret Ndjamen, also known as Sako, a part of rePurpose Global project Sanguisé in Cameroon. Sako is a 33-year-old with a passion for environmental conservation. On top of driving his motorcycle taxi around Douala, he dedicates his time to scooping plastic waste out of waterways and drainage systems in the city. Every morning, and every weekend you can find Sako cleaning up plastic, which he does with passion and love. Sako told us that when started collecting plastics from rivers of Cameroon, it wasn’t easy. People were saying: "What is this guy doing? What does he do with those bottles?” But it didn't deter Sako. And since then, he has become a catalyst for environmental awareness among his peers, inspiring several young people to join him in his regular collections. Sako says: "People now appreciate the value of our work and actively support our mission to clean up Cameroon's rivers." Inspirational! NAMé Recycling
