    POST-DOC POSITION! The University of California, Irvine’s Humanities Center invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral scholar, starting January 2025 with an annual starting salary of $66,737, to implement the James Irvine Foundation funded project, The Historic Origins Project investigating Economic inequality in Orange County (HOPE-OC). The deadline for applications is November 18, 2024. The project has three goals: 1. To advance research on the history of land, race, and Indigeneity in Orange County and analyze how this history shapes contemporary forms of economic and racial inequality. 2. To research the origins and development of the Irvine Ranch and the establishment of The James Irvine Foundation as an important example of this history. 3.     Environmental Justice Policy Analyst Position @ US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Grow your career for the good of our planet! In this role, you will: 1. Conduct environmental justice analysis and evaluation related to the health sciences field using a variety of computational models, tools and methodologies. 2. Collaborate within and across divisions, offices, regions and agencies to determine how environmental justice concerns may be addressed in scientific reviews, scientific assessments, and environmental justice analyses. 3. Develop analytical, scientific and technical solutions to environmental justice concerns, in collaboration with policy work groups. Education You must have a bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position; OR a combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major, as listed; OR four years of experience that demonstrate you have acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major, as listed.     Check out some project images from WUICAN! The Wildland-Urban Interface Climate Action Network (WUICAN, pronounced "we can") is a multidisciplinary project created to address climate change in California. @UCI, WUICAN works across the physical and social sciences, humanities and law to involve undergraduates, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows in climate research, internships and policy workshops. A consortium of community-based organizations, California Native American Tribes, land managers and UCs, WUICAN is generating science-based and community-driven best practices for responding to climate risks.     C-CAP Scholar Position! The Orange County & Southeast Asian Archive Center, part of the UCI Libraries’ Special Collections & Archives Department, is excited to begin their recruitment process for another year of Community-Centered Archives Practice: Transforming Education, Advocacy, and Community History (C-CAP TEACH) undergraduate student C-CAP Scholar positions for the Winter 2025 quarter.
