Here are my top 3 tips to make your application stand out (for any job, including this one). 1️⃣ Please carefully review the job description and customize your cover letter given the what (specific skills needed) and how (behaviors and organizational values) are relevant to the job. Cover letters that stand out provide an example or two from their own experiences. And pro tip - check that there are no errors, typos, or major grammatical problems using tools like Grammarly or the checks embedded in Word or Google Docs. 2️⃣ If there is a required qualification and it isn't clear how you would be eligible for this position given your resume, be clear about how you meet minimal qualifications in your cover letter. We aren't able to review applications that don't pass the minimal qualifications review by HR. For example, if you are graduating in December with a BA/BS at the start of the job, be clear about this in your cover letter. Or if you have a high school degree and have a range of jobs with customer service and administrative responsibilities, describe this in the cover letter and how it is equal to at least 4 years of work experience. 3️⃣ Please submit all required application materials in the required format. Most applications are not reviewed because they are not complete. And pro tip - never submit a Word document - always submit a PDF. PDFs can't be changed once they are received. And, when candidates provide Word documents, it is fairly common that those documents also include track changes or comments, which will be viewed negatively during the review process for detail-oriented positions. 💻 Want to apply?
