Enabling Advanced Decision Support
About us
Resilient Cognitive Solution’s (RCS) is a veteran-owned small business consultancy. Our mission is to design and deliver revolutionary decision support systems that dramatically improve joint human-machine decision-making in both business critical and mission critical situations. We simplify complex decision environments. To put it simply, we are ergonomic specialists for the brain. We help organizations escape data analysis and decision-making complexity by adapting computer intelligence systems, so they are comfortable for users. We make your current systems conform to your preferences, rather than forcing you to think like a computer. Our team of Human Factors Engineers / Cognitive Systems Engineers (CSE), and Interface Design Engineers work within interdisciplinary teams to create the concepts and detailed designs for these revolutionary information systems. We are dedicated to providing principle-driven design of human-machine joint cognitive systems. The central focus of our work is creating effective systems that embed user expertise and support decision making under the pressures and constraints of the real world. The CSE team is responsible for the interface designs as well as the comprehensive cognitive work analysis that informs those designs. This team works closely with our talented group of software developers, providing design concepts, representational designs, and functionality requirements as guidance for their system development effort. We are fortunate to work with some of the best and brightest organizations in the world. From defense to finance, healthcare to energy, we bring greater simplicity and effectiveness to command and control for executives and analysts working within critical, challenging decision-making environments.

AV vs. HV: Harmony and Challenges Between Autonomous Vehicles (AV’s) & Human-Driven Vehicles (HV’s). The Carnegie Mellon University policy brief, "Mixed-Autonomy Era of Transportation: Resilience & Autonomous Fleet Management," explores the integration of autonomous vehicles (AVs) and human-driven vehicles (HVs). It emphasizes the altruistic nature of AVs compared to potentially selfish HVs. However, real-world experiences with AVs challenge the envisioned benefits. A survey reveals concerns, with people expressing anxiety and distrust toward AVs, particularly in unpredictable pedestrian interactions.
