Last Thursday, Resolve AI and Greylock co-hosted a dinner in NYC, bringing together a great group of technology leaders across tech and finance from companies such as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Citadel, Fidelity Investments, Figma, Notion, Zocdoc and others to discuss how AI is accelerating Software Engineering. The world of software engineering tools is definitely changing and there is no going back. Some highlights from the discussion - Code generation/co-pilots are widely used, even in large and highly regulated organizations - For large scale systems, understanding of code and production operations takes the vast majority engineering time and accelerating velocity means solving these as well as new feature development - Incident investigations are painful and tend to occupy the time of the most senior engineers because of escalations - Strong data security and guardrails around data usage in AI tools is essential for the adoption by financial institutions - Lots of optimism about the future Thanks everyone for joining! We will be organizing similar events in Salt Lake City at Kubecon, in Las Vegas during ReInvent and in San Francisco in December. Please DM if you would like to be invited.

Learn AI Together - I share my learning journey into AI and Data Science here, 90% buzzword-free. Follow me and let's grow together!

Ever feel like you spend more time fixing bugs than building features? The real challenge isn't just writing code—it's keeping software running smoothly in production. It's crazy how much time we lose chasing down issues and handling incidents instead of innovating. But what if AI could take that stress off your plate? Not just code completion, but actually managing production systems, fixing problems as they arise, and giving you more time to create. The team at Resolve AI has built something groundbreaking: an AI Production Engineer. It handles alerts, resolves issues, and takes care of troubleshooting for you. No more getting pulled into late-night incident calls. Sounds futuristic, but it's already live and making a difference. Curious how they made this happen? Check out their story: https://lnkd.in/gicA8FT5 This could be a game changer for how we run production systems. Question, if AI could handle your production headaches, what would you focus on building next? #artificialIntelligence #engineering #innovation #technology #productivity

They don't tell you this in college: Writing code is a tiny piece of building a production system. Getting software to work at scale in the real world requires many more skills. Today, people spend more time "fixing" than "building." Even worse, as complexity increases, you'll spend most of your time troubleshooting problems. The more complex the system, the harder it is to find issues with it. Everyone knows about AI's potential to write code, but a big part of AI's impact on the future of software will be in helping us run production systems. I want to show you a blueprint of what an agentic AI in this area looks like. This is from the team at Resolve AI. They are building an AI Production Engineer that handles all alerts, performs root cause analysis, resolves incidents, and makes on-call stress-free. Here is the blueprint: https://lnkd.in/eAK4UaK9 A tool like this has the potential to change the software industry completely. We still need more breakthroughs, but it's crazy how much progress we've made so far. The Resolve AI team already has customers using this in production!

We have been doing 5+ demos a day since we launched Resolve AI, many of them to larger companies with highly sophisticated engineering teams, tools, and processes. Of course, I am happy for all these inbound requests and the opportunities they represent but more than that I’m happy because most of the time customers have a very good idea of what Resolve does and the problems it addresses. Building a product that solves a real problem but also describes what it does in simple terms that are understood is quite hard. It took us tens of iterations on how we describe the solution to make it concise and avoid the usual “end-to-end”, “next generation”, “democratizing”, etc. People are experiencing the problem we set out to solve, and they recognize that we have the potential to solve it.
