For our October employee spotlight, we're featuring Craig Steinman, who has recently been promoted to our Director of Tenant Utility Billing. We wanted to emphasize Craig's hard work and dedication to the company by interviewing him on the company, his new role, and his favorite things to do outside of work. Thanks for all that you do, Craig! "My name is Craig Steinman and I am from Baltimore, Maryland. I graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a degree in English Literature and a minor in Creative Writing. I started working at Resource Energy in 2017 as an Energy Analyst. I’ve worked with some excellent people at RES and have learned a lot. I’m excited to be in a position to help our staff grow and learn, and to make RES a company our clients love to work with. When we’re home in Baltimore I enjoy cooking big meals for our friends before Ravens and Orioles games, going to trivia nights, reading books, and watching movies. I’ve been travelling across the country with my wife and two cats and have visited 30 states and 10 national parks, and we’re hoping to get to all of them eventually! I enjoy hiking, camping, skiing, kayaking, and anything else on the water. Some of the best experiences have been sandboarding the Great Sand Dunes and getting lost in the Fiery Furnace at Arches!" #employeespotlight #energymanagement #tenantutilitybilling

Energy: It's not just a resource. It's a relationship.
About us
Resource Energy was founded in 2007 with the mission of assisting commercial real estate owners with their energy needs. Principals Scott Reinstein, Steven Schlussel, and Richard Plutzer quickly saw that a number of companies had a need for more affordable energy options, better billing solutions, and implementing sustainability best practices. Resource Energy began expanding its services to meet this real need in cities and towns across the country, with a focus on customer service and simplifying energy procurement and tenant utility billing for their clients. Today, Resource Energy operates in 45 states with a team of roughly 50 energy analysts, mechanical engineers, sales personnel, and software engineers. The company services hundreds of millions of square feet of commercial energy load, providing a diverse portfolio of properties and companies with creative and highly customized solutions to their energy needs.

Members of the San Diego office volunteered this week with the Nature Collective to help in their program to restore the surrounding areas of San Elijo's Nature Reserve. They primarily helped remove invasive plants, making a lasting impact on the growth of native ones. #volunteerdays #naturecollective #energymanagement

Members of the Maryland team volunteered today at Daniel's Dam at Patapsco Valley State Park. We worked with park rangers to clean up the dam collecting 135 lbs. of garbage! Removing contaminants from the environment not only keeps the park beautiful but prevents wildlife from ingesting items that could cause them harm. We look forward to teaming up with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources again!

For our September employee spotlight, we are featuring Brenda, one of our outstanding senior accountants! We interviewed her on her hobbies and time thus far at Resource Energy. Thank you for all that you do! "My name is Brenda Smith, I live in Southeast Ohio along the river but originally, I'm from West Virginia. I spent my first 20 years on 500 acres of beautiful rolling hills with nothing around but nature. I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor's in Accounting. I also have an Associate’s from Mountain State College in Computer Applications. When I'm not working, I love camping (aka glamping) with my husband and my two babies (which happen to be beagles). I also enjoy fishing. Living so close to the river makes it easy to find a spot but I really enjoy fishing in the ocean, strictly catch and release. My time at RES has been amazing, this family is exactly what I was looking for. I am the Senior Accountant and have been here one year, time has flown."

For our August employee spotlight, we are featuring Connor, one of our wonderful Energy Analysts. We interviewed Connor on his time thus far at Resource Energy, thank you for all that you do! "My name is Connor Nolan. I graduated from Iowa State University in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in Statistics. I live in Chicago, Illinois, with my girlfriend, Hadley, and our two cats. I have been in the utility billing field since 2021 and at Resource Energy for two years as an Energy Analyst. What I enjoy most about Resource Energy is working with my coworkers. From my first day, they have always been very kind and are always willing to lend a hand. I also enjoy that Resource Energy's role in the energy sector has allowed me to work on a variety of different problems to find solutions for our clients. Outside of work, I like watching and attending all kinds of sporting events, reading, and trying new restaurants." #employeespotlight #spotlight #energymanagement #tenantbilling
