This award will bring ASSIST’s cutting-edge talent and expertise into our team. With this incredible support, we’re one step closer to realizing our vision: bias-free, reliable, and objective evaluation of surgical practice. We’re thrilled to partner with ASSIST, an industry leader developing flexible, self-powering and wearable devices that help both physicians and patients to monitor human health across fields. ASSIST has filed more than 90 inventions generating 53 patents, spun off 10 companies, graduated 105 Ph.Ds., published over 650 papers, and engaged hundreds of students. About us
ReSuture’s mission is to ensure safer surgery and medical device development through purpose-driven innovation. We recreate the conditions of the operating room in realistic and portable systems - creating physical models that replicate human anatomy with diseased conditions. Our medical device customers use our technology to demonstrate their products to surgeons and hospitals, ensure customer retention through ongoing training, and conduct R&D on new devices. ReSuture’s patented manufacturing method allows us to create next-generation pathology-specific surgical models for vascular/endovascular, interventional radiology, structural heart, and interventional cardiology device manufacturers. Our products help ensure safer and more effective market adoption of surgical devices, and empower physicians to deliver the highest caliber of care. ReSuture is supported by the National Science Foundation to create a surgical data analytics platform that will give surgeons insight into their performance, and help medical device manufacturers better understand how providers are utilizing their devices. Movement and pressure data collected from ReSuture’s models will provide the first objective, data-driven solution for training on novel medical devices.
