📣 Exciting News! 📣 We are thrilled to announce that our two esteemed Pediatric & Adult Vitreoretinal Surgeons, Drs. Prethy Rao and Emmanuel Chang, have helped with a case series titled, "Case Series of Progressive Retinal Detachments in Persistent Fetal Vasculature." This sheds light on the potential risks and complications that may arise in non-operated Persistent Fetal Vasculature (PFV). 🔍 Key Findings: Five unique cases of PFV showed significant progression over time. Four of these cases developed a new type of detachment, known as rhegmatogenous detachment. 👩⚕️👨⚕️ Conclusion: If you or someone you know has PFV and a seemingly stable retinal detachment, it is crucial to consult with a retina specialist for risk assessment and appropriate management. This is because the condition can evolve and lead to more severe complications. Congratulations to Drs. Rao and Chang for their valuable contribution to the field of Pediatric Vitreoretinal Surgery! 🎉 🔗 Read the full case series here: https://lnkd.in/gCckG7Kq
