🌍 Cornell University Takes Bold Steps Toward Carbon Neutrality 🌱
Cornell University is leading the charge in sustainability with its ambitious Climate Action Plan aimed at achieving carbon neutrality by 2035. Cornell is implementing innovative solutions to achieve this goal, and Revert Technologies could not be more proud to be part of this effort.
Revert’s technology conserves energy by automatically turning off equipment when not in use, addressing the issue of phantom loads—energy consumed by devices even in standby mode. In a pilot at the Helen Newman Fitness Center, 22 pieces of equipment were connected to Revert’s smart plugs, resulting in an estimated savings of 756.5 kWh of electricity and a reduction of 177.017lbs CO2e in just two months. This is the equivalent of driving a car 205 miles or charging 5,301 smartphones!
As Kimberly Barth Anderson, Assistant Director of Campus Sustainability, noted, "We're excited to build upon the success of the Revert Technologies pilot and expand Acorns into more Cornell Fitness Centers this upcoming semester."
Kudos to Cornell for setting a powerful example in sustainability and energy conservation! 💪🌿
