On Saturday, September 28th, ReVital therapists from multiple Kessler Rehabilitation Centers gathered to honor and support those affected by blood cancers, at LLS Light the Night in Verona, NJ. Nicole Romaine, Demetria Petris, Gay Violeta, Aarti Deshpande and Alina Hedaya were honored to be part of this meaningful event, and to connect with the local community of survivors, family members, supporters and other healthcare providers.

At the end of 2023, Roxanne Bautista’s life changed when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent chemotherapy for several months before finally undergoing a bilateral mastectomy, followed by radiation and immunotherapy. After her mastectomy, Roxanne’s physician referred her to the ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation Program at HealthWorks Rehab & Fitness in Morgantown, WV. There, she met Jeff Sandy, a physical therapist specializing in cancer rehabilitation. Roxanne suffered from a decreased range of motion, weakness, fatigue, chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage), reduced flexibility and pain. Jeff created a comprehensive program to address these concerns, focusing on exercises to improve mobility, strength and flexibility. He also taught her techniques to manage pain and fatigue. Roxanne continued her physical therapy throughout her radiation and immunotherapy treatments, significantly improving her symptoms. She has now completed treatment, is in full remission and has returned to participating in everyday activities. Congratulations, Roxanne. Thank you for choosing us.
