In recognition of National Native American Heritage Month, AFN highlights our regional chapter in New Mexico. New Mexico is the third most diverse state in the nation and home to 23 sovereign Indigenous nations. 29% of Native American families in New Mexico live in poverty while only 7.5% of their white counterparts are similarly situated. Native American communities are resilient, but it is morally irresponsible and economically untenable to ignore the inequities created by the racial wealth gap. Read more from AFN's Gabrielle Uballez about the challenges and opportunities to support Native American communities in this report: https://loom.ly/X5p0xrI #NAHM #RacialWealthGap #philanthropy
