Aaron Gwinner, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Reynolds, recently participated in an engaging panel alongside Amanda Linden, Director of UX Design at Amazon Business, David Kline, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at News Corp, and Thomas Phelps, Chief Information Officer at Laserfiche at WSJ Tech Live. During the discussion, sponsored by Amazon Business, the panelists shared their perspectives on the future of B2B commerce and explored how AI is transforming the B2B buying experience and reshaping the procurement process. Aaron spoke about the journey Reynolds has been on with the implementation of AI in procurement and supply chain forecasting. He says, “We’ve been doing traditional AI for a long time, and primarily in the last few years, it’s been more focused on forecasting capabilities. Now, we’re trying to create an ecosystem of AI to connect to each other. It’s great to have a procurement capability, but the real value is all the way through the supply chain to the adult consumer.” Photo credit: Nikki Ritcher for The Wall Street Journal

This past week, Reynolds scientists, alongside colleagues from BAT, took part in the CORESTA Congress 2024 in Edinburgh, Scotland. As the world’s leading conference on tobacco and related product science, CORESTA provided an opportunity for us to present pioneering research focused on Tobacco Harm Reduction (THR). Our scientific contributions highlighted the innovative approaches we are taking to develop potentially reduced-risk products for adult smokers seeking alternatives to combustible cigarettes.   Through evidence-based research, our commitment to advancing #THR is not just about dialogue—it’s about action and meaningful progress. These innovations are grounded in science, ensuring that new products are developed with the highest standards.   Collaboration with the broader scientific community remains critical in realizing the full potential of THR. By engaging with experts and leaders across the field, we reaffirm our mission to Build A #SmokelessWorld and contribute to A Better Tomorrow™.   #ReynoldsAmerican #BAT #CORESTA2024

Our Women’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) recently donated over 60 self-care kits filled with everyday essentials and relaxation products including hand lotion, scented candles, face masks, encouragement cards, hand sanitizer, and fuzzy socks to Winston-Salem, NC’s The Shalom Project’s Flourish Program. The Flourish Program is a one-year financial education and holistic wellness program designed to help women with low income achieve financial self-sufficiency. The ERG hosted a fundraiser, exceeding their original goal of $1,000 for kit supplies, and a packing event to assemble the kits. Excellent work! Katie McDaniel, Senior Scientist of Product Data Management and Community Service Coordinator for the Women’s ERG, was able to meet the directors, coordinators, and women in the Flourish Program to hand deliver the packed kits. She says, “The group expressed their sincere gratitude for the kits and for Reynolds’ continued support and investment in the program.” #ReynoldsAmerican #CommunityGiving

As part of the panel, Shay emphasized the importance of knowing your value and advocating for opportunities. Each fall, millions of birds migrate along the Atlantic Flyway back south to their winter homes. Since most birds migrate at night, artificial lights from city buildings can attract and disorient birds on their journey. We are proud to participate in Forsyth Audubon and Audubon North Carolina’s Lights Out Winston-Salem program to help prevent collisions and get birds home safely. Between September 10th and November 30th, we're turning off all nonessential exterior and interior lighting after 11 PM at our downtown Winston-Salem, NC headquarters building. Safe travels, little voyagers! Learn more about the Lights Out program here: https://lnkd.in/ep6yEfdJ
