💡 Selecting the right Trust Services Criteria for your business is an essential step in achieving SOC 2 compliance. The SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria are used to evaluate an organization's controls related to data management. The 5 criteria are: ✅ Security (the protection of data against unauthorized access). ✅ Availability (the system's operational uptime and accessibility). ✅ Processing Integrity (ensuring that system processing is complete, valid, and accurate). ✅ Confidentiality (protection of sensitive information from unauthorized disclosure). ✅ Privacy (focuses on the collection, use, and retention of personal information). When it comes to which criteria to select, there are two main things to consider: 1. What are your requirements from your client base? 2. What do you value in your information security program? In our webinar on SOC 2, Rhymetec CISO Metin K. spoke to Craig Saldanha, CISA, CISM, CRISC, ISO LI from auditing firm Insight Assurance about what the 5 Trust Services Criteria are, and how businesses should go about selecting them. https://lnkd.in/e4H5TKEK #SOC2 #privacy #cybersecurity #infosec #compliance

💡Did you know? Organizations using advanced log analysis tools report: 🔽 📉 A 30% reduction in downtime, and a 📈 25% improvement in security incident response times. Why is log analysis important?❗ In the case of the 2017 Equifax data breach, attackers had accessed sensitive data for over 2 months before discovery. Inadequate log analysis contributed to the delay in detecting the breach. A proactive approach to security that includes log analysis allows companies to: ✅ Isolate the threat and mitigate potential damage. ✅ Prevent security breaches. ✅ Address breaches in a timely fashion if they do occur. Check out Rhymetec CISO Metin Kortak's latest Built In article, "A Log Analysis Tutorial," to learn more! 🔽 https://lnkd.in/eMmQVpxX #loganalysis #CISO #cybersecurity #infosec #security

We've all been there - the lure of the "remind me tomorrow" button is strong.❗ But the truth is that regularly updating your software is one of the simplest and most effective steps you can take to protect your data. There's a reason why regular updates and patch management are a key part of many regulatory and compliance frameworks. 🔐 Don't let "remind me tomorrow" become a habit: Software updates often include patches for vulnerabilities and it's important to implement them in a timely manner. ⏳ For businesses, scheduling automatic updates, regularly auditing your systems to check all software is up to date, and creating a patch management plan as part of your security policies are critical action items in 2024. #cybersecurity #dataprotection #softwareupdates #compliance #cybersecuritycompliance #meme #security
