About us
Founded in 2018, Alto is the first employee-based rideshare company rethinking a traditionally inconsistent, gig-based industry. By hiring vetted, professional drivers and managing a dedicated fleet of 5-star crash rated luxury vehicles, Alto offers the safest, most consistent, and most personalized passenger experience on the market today. Alto classifies its drivers as W-2 employees, provides in-depth training, manages its owned vehicle fleet, and brings advanced logistics and optimization to the ridesharing ecosystem. Currently available in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, D.C., and Silicon Valley, Alto has plans to grow rapidly across the United States - and we're hiring! In celebration of Black History Month, we are highlighting a few leaders at Alto in the Black community, and to kick off the first day of the month we are starting with our Customer Experience Manager, Daisey Lane! Check back here each week for a new feature from team Alto. Let's get to know Daisey! How do you celebrate Black History? "To celebrate Black History, I educate my 10-year-old on history on strong voices of our past. We love to have movie nights and "42" is one of our favorites to watch. The most important thing I try to teach is that we only get one name, and we have to be intentional with what we want people to think of or remember when they hear it." Do you have a Black-owned business you highly recommend? "I really love Roots Southern Table, which is a restaurant by Chef Tiffany Derry who was a Top Chef Contestant. I've visited both of their locations in Plano and Farmer's Branch and every time I visit the food is amazing and the service is phenomenal." Who in business do you look up to in the community? "Marsai Martin is such an inspiration especially to the younger generation. She is from Plano, Texas and is a very educated and talented young woman. She owns her own production company and to date is the youngest person to serve as an executive producer on a major Hollywood film." Be sure to give Daisey a shoutout in the comments! #blackhistorymonth #employeespotlight
