Today, Commissioner Infante-Green joined Providence Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Montañez, Mayor Brett Smiley, Providence City Council, School Board, Principal Monterecy and the Mary Fogarty Elementary community to break ground on the new school! The project will provide modern, welcoming learning spaces that students and educators deserve. As part of the historic PPSD $1B school construction plan, we have opened FOUR new schools, with more in the pipeline. These new buildings serve as a reminder of what’s possible when we prioritize our students and make meaningful investments in their future. #FogartyPride As we celebrate the progress we’ve made in school construction, it’s also important to recognize the transformative work happening inside the buildings. From the first National Blue Ribbon elementary school to expanded career & technical education, we applaud Providence Public Schools! #schoolconstruction #groundbreaking #ceremony #groundbreakingceremony #rhodeisland #education #schoolfacilities #construction

Today, Governor Dan McKee, Commissioner Infante-Green, and state, municipal, school and district leaders joined students and educators at Hope High School for the Visual and Performing Arts to announce Act II of RIDE’s ARTS Initiative! The grant program, made possible by the School Building Authority, will provide $5 million to 52 districts and schools to bolster arts programming. Thank you to the excellent student performers who showcased their talents in their brand-new, state-of-the-art auditorium - just one highlight of the Providence Public Schools' historic $1 billion school facilities plan. We also share our gratitude with the students and educators operating the Providence Career and Technical Academy Good Eats & Treats Food Truck! Through transformative school construction projects and innovative and engaging programs like the ARTS Initiative, we are investing in our students and paving the way for their success. Together, we are setting the stage for a brighter future for every student in Rhode Island.
