🎉 We're excited to announce that our paper, Recommending Career Transitions to Job Seekers Using Earnings Estimates, Skills Similarity, and Occupational Demand, is now published in the ACM, Association for Computing Machinery, Digital Library! The paper covers the algorithm behind our solution, DOORS (Data for Opportunity in Occupational Reskilling Solution), which uses administrative data and causal machine learning to help job seekers find new careers by identifying successful transitions made by similar individuals. Its algorithm reduces the uncertainty of career changes, recommending opportunities that are skill-aligned, in-demand, and lead to better earnings and employment. 💼 Read more: https://lnkd.in/eA57r4U8 Congrats, Mark Howison, Joe Long, and Justine Hastings!

RIPL was featured in a recent Jobs for the Future (JFF) report for our innovative work using big data to support skill pathways in New Jersey! 📰 In partnership with the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development, we developed NJ Career Navigator to provide data-driven job, training, and career transition recommendations to career explorers. The tool, which helped 54,000 users in its first month, uses O*NET data, NLx job ads, training program outcomes, and over 400,000 NJ resumes matched to millions of wage records to provide insight into common career and wage advancement pathways. We are thrilled to be making waves in the NJ workforce by helping residents navigate their career journeys with confidence and informed decision-making! 🎉 #AI #WorkforceDevelopment #PublicSectorInnovation
In a new paper from the Workforce Transformation Policy Council, the Task Force on Data Access, Alignment & Integration for Improved Workforce Outcomes outlines their policy recommendations for ensuring our workforce development system is responsive to the needs of the users of today—and tomorrow. Read the policy brief to learn more about the task force's four crucial design principles for core strategies to improve workforce outcomes through data: 📈 Shift the data-collection focus from achieving compliance to delivering value for all stakeholders; this includes participants, employers, partners, and communities. 🌐 Create conditions for data sharing, interagency collaboration, public-private partnership, and the use of innovative technology to align performance incentives, anticipate needs, fill gaps, and seamlessly serve the customer. 🖥️ Invest in necessary infrastructure, human capital, and cybersecurity to position the workforce system to meet the data needs of both today and tomorrow. 💼 Use the system to inform and advance pathways to #qualityjobs and help individuals and communities thrive. The task force, established by JFF and the National Association of Workforce Boards, explores how federal policies can better use existing workforce systems to deliver people-first, equity-centered results for all. We were thrilled to collaborate on the integration of digital credential wallets to support job seekers on their paths to in-demand careers, high-quality training, and ready-to-hire employers! Special thanks to Velocity Network Foundation for hosting such engaging, energizing sessions on a statewide verifiable digital credential ecosystem last week.
Last week, the Arkansas Digital Credential Ecosystem Workshop, hosted by the TSS ARData team, brought together key government, non-profit, and private sector stakeholders to generate ideas and strategies for deploying verifiable digital credentials into Arkansas’s workforce and educational systems. The discussion of digital credentials focused on two initial use cases: • Inmate educational attainments to recognize achievements obtained during incarceration, with the goal of improving reintegration outcomes and • Healthcare workforce efficiency for hiring and onboarding healthcare workers, specifically nurses, to address workforce demands and enhance patient care. The workshop was conducted to support Governor Sanders’ Arkansas Workforce Strategy and the LEARNS and Protect Arkansas Acts.
