  • EVENT UPDATES: The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is hosting a "Halloween Haunted House" Fall Festival on Thursday, October 31st from 5 PM - 8:30 PM at the Bibb County Sheriff's Office Outreach and Restorative Justice Center located at 774 Hazel Street in Macon+Bibb County. The costume contest will be at 6:30 PM. The haunted house will be for ages 6 and up only. Come enjoy FREE food and candy, a gaming truck, inflatables, a train ride, the sounds D.J. Yeem, and fun for the whole family!

  • Thank you to everyone who came out to show your support at the groundbreaking ceremony for River Edge Behavioral Health's new Adult Peer Support and Community Integration Center in Macon today! Special thanks to Macon-Bibb Mayor Lester Miller, Macon-Bibb County Consolidated Government, and Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities for helping make this center possible. Thank you also to Rev. Sara Montgomery with Centenary United Methodist Church, Kamal Azar with Azar Walsh Architects, Christy Kovac with Sheridan Construction, WyKesia Stafford with Stafford Builders & Consultants, Inc., and Dr. Steven E. Corkery for your remarks and support. The center, located in the historical Pleasant Hill neighborhood area, will provide day-to-day planned group activities for adults with behavioral health and intellectual developmental disabilities. Programs will include symptom management, stress management, anger management, life/social skills, and many more programs. An all-inclusive gymnasium and outside gardens will promote exercise, relaxation, and meditation. Individualized and goal-directed programming will provide a stable foundation while increasing each individual’s level of independence to live successfully in their community.
