MEET OUR ENGINEERING INTERN: Lexi Wilmoth As a materials engineer, I’m exploring the many facets of plastics manufacturing at RMB while focusing on the materials aspect of all plastics-related processes. I’ve already assisted in pin mill grinding, the cleaning of the mill, and running numerous material lab tests. For the rest of the summer, I’ll be developing and rewriting several sets of operating instructions for material lab testing equipment. I’m pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), with plans to graduate in May 2025. As a mechanical engineering student in a materials engineering internship role, I realize there’s so much to learn! Jarred Packard, RMB’s R&D materials engineer, has already taught me a lot about the world of plastics. I love that I’m working on different projects each day, which keeps me on my toes and engaged. Jarred encourages me to ask questions and think critically about various challenges I encounter. I enjoy the constant education in this position and the potential for continuous growth. When I’m not working, I love spending time outdoors. In the summer, you’ll probably find me hiking or relaxing in my hammock. I also love to read. My current book is Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas. I enjoy watching Arrested Development, which is hilarious! I’m the vice president of the Society of Women Engineers chapter at UCCS, which keeps me busy.

MEET OUR ENGINEERING INTERN: Christian Pool Working as a mechanical engineer at RMB has been a great opportunity to gain experience in the aerospace industry before I graduate from college. It’s been awesome to see the industrial applications of some of my hobbies, like 3D printing and CAD design, in the real world. Since starting my internship, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a capability study for RMB’s laser sintering machines. This study will help the company optimize the machines and determine their capabilities. Moving forward, I’m excited to get involved with additional projects and learn more about RMB and the aerospace industry. I’m a junior studying aerospace engineering at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. The experience I’ve gained at RMB and in my degree path has helped cement my decision to stay local and work in the growing aerospace industry in Colorado Springs. Speaking of Colorado Springs, my favorite local restaurant is Little Nepal, which I consider the best Indian restaurant in the area. My favorite food is a big ole steak off my grill at home. I love to travel. I just visited Puerto Vallarta in January. It was an awesome city with a lot of culture and a hopping nightlife. My favorite activity was taking a traditional mole cooking class at the ChocoMuseo. It was my first trip to Mexico, and I can’t wait to return!
