    2024 has been all about new experiences and living life as fully as possible. I grew up in a hunting family, but as the youngest of 5 kids, my big brothers always took care of all of that. I took hunter safety as a kid and learned all about gun safety my entire life. This past Labor Day weekend I actually bought and used a hunting license for the first time since I passed hunter safety 25 years ago. I also shot a compound bow and several other guns, and I am not a bad shot! Especially since I haven’t fired a weapon of any kind in well over a decade.

    I wouldn’t have a business today if… Parents only gave their children… THE PERMISSION TO FEEL. The permission to fully experience their emotions, while also guiding them to understand they have the power to choose their behavior. This builds incredible circuitry in the brain, fostering resilience from an early age. It makes them mentally strong. Children who develop a strong sense of self don’t seek validation externally. That’s what I want for my daughters. No matter what they do or who they’re with, they have a strong sense of who they are. I want to cultivate strong egos, a robust sense of self that embraces feelings and failure, yet remains grounded in the belief that they’ll be all right. I don’t want them relying on external sources for validation. I want them to harness the power within themselves. When I work with clients who are adults, I often see the impact of never having been given this space to grow, to feel, to label their emotions, and to articulate their feelings. To understand that it’s okay to be afraid and to feel a range of emotions. To realize that feeling is a part of being human. It doesn’t define who they are; it’s simply a moment in time.     One of the most common questions I get asked; How do I stay disciplined with my fitness? 🚫First things first-It’s not about discipline 🚫I don’t always feel like going to the gym or working out 🚫I don’t count my calories or measure my food 🚫I don’t restrict myself from anything 🚫I’m not some gym rat doing extreme things (okay well maybe a little) ✅It’s about the daily habits I have adopted ✅When you have good, healthy habits installed, you get up and you do it anyway🔥 This is why it’s a HABIT Just like my morning coffee☕️ It’s a habit Here’s how you can start incorporating HEALTH into your life 1. Understand your WHY {I’m obsessed with my health because I’ll be damned if I ever have to take prescription drugs because I failed my body} ~Are you wanting to lose weight? ~Do you want to be in the best physical shape so you can do everyday things like getting your ass of the couch and your phone? ~Do you want to be able to have functional movement in your body, so you can pick up your kids or grandkids? ~Do you want to look smoking in a bathing suit? When you shape your mindset to believing you deserve to look and feel your best, the rest becomes a no brainer🤯 2. Create a PLAN ~What days will you decide to move your body? Keep it simple and start with 2 then add another day once you have created a weekly habit of going consistently 2 days a week. It doesn’t matter what you do, as long as your getting blood pumping ~Pick your outfit out the night before and put your gym shoes by the door or in your gym bag ~Schedule your workouts in just like you would an important meeting 3. PRIORTIZE your health ~You must care about yourself enough to be healthy. Know you deserve it and are worthy👊🏽 ~Be mindful of what you put into your body, this goes for what you consume with your eyes as well 4. LISTEN to your body ~Start with a protein centered diet. Animal Protein first before carbs and fats. I aim for 120 grams of protein daily🥩 ~Elminate processed sugar from your diet {Utah’s drug of choice is sugar, don’t be like Utah} ~EAT intuitively {This means you eat when you are hungry and stop eating when you feel the first twinge of being full, don’t gorge yourself like a little piggy just because there is food on your plate🐷 5. The LAST and most IMPORTANT thing to work on is your belief system ~If you don’t value your health it will show in your waistline.period ~Your MINDSET will push you through the days you don’t feel like going ~Get right with this and the rest will fall into place.     Once again, this time features on @applenews @cbsnews , @stylemagazines , @NBCnews and @FoxNews . It’s a great article on how to achieve financial freedom AND authentic genuine fulfillment and happiness in your midlife. I believe with every cell in my body that that’s what Midlife is all about. We are supposed to enjoy!! I do my darn best to live it every single day. Sometimes more and sometimes a little less successfully. But the truth is, there will always be struggles in life – that’s just how it is – the trick is to manage it in a way that it doesn’t throw us off our rockers; that we fricking love this rollercoaster life not just despite, but because of the bumps in the road; and that we finally live our own authentic life versus somebody else’s. How? By being open to and adapting new perspectives. You do that, everything else falls into place: success, relationships, joy and happiness, peace, fulfillment and meaning,…and whatever else you wish for.
