October 2024 marks two years of Robert Hall! To celebrate our anniversary, this week we’ll be taking a look back at the memorable events and remarkable people who have shaped our journey over the past 24 months. But first, a little history lesson! The story of Robert Hall is about more than a space—it’s about community, history, and craftsmanship. The building that we now call home has seen multiple transformations since its beginnings in the early 1900s. Originally a doctor’s office and café, by the mid-1930s it housed Coe & Hartman Signs, one of the Southeast’s largest sign shops. Decades later, Bob’s Machine and Metal Fabricator operated here, led by Bob McCormick, a local legend and dear friend of our Proprietors, Christy and William L Spencer. During its latest renovation, an old neon sign from the once thriving Robert Hall Clothing store was rediscovered, inspiring the venue’s name as a tribute to Bob McCormick and its industrial legacy. Today, Robert Hall continues to honor its past while serving as a modern event venue in Winston-Salem’s thriving Industry Hill distinct. It’s a space where history, design, and community come together, creating unforgettable experiences for those who walk through its doors. #RobertHallWSNC | #WinstonSalem | #WSNC

We had an absolute blast hosting REACH Women's Network’s Pink Couch event earlier this week! The REACH Women’s Network seeks to advance economic development and promote gender equity by elevating the collective voice and influence of women in the workplace. As an organization, they strive to Recognize, Encourage, Advance, and Connect women. Panelists at Wednesday’s event evaluated the entrepreneurial mindset—a powerful approach that optimizes opportunity and ignites innovation. Together we all learned that an entrepreneurial and growth mindset is a creative way of thinking and approaching challenges, opportunities, and decision-making that can be applied in any role and career. At bars across the world, you’ll still find numerous interpretations of the Old Fashioned. Depending on the bartender, you may encounter muddled fruit, a wide array of bitters, or even the addition of cordials. The adaptability of the cocktail is part of its enduring charm, making it a canvas for creativity while still honoring its roots. However, at Robert Hall’s Capone’s Bar, the Old Fashioned is celebrated in its most authentic form. Jessica and Matt Judson, the husband and wife duo behind Thirsty Buffalo Beverage Catering (and Robert Hall’s bar managers), stick closely to this tradition. They craft the Old Fashioned using house-made simple syrup and a balanced combination of Angostura and orange bitters. Instead of muddling fruit, they add only the essence of orange oil expressed from the peel, ensuring the whiskey remains the star of the show. The simplicity of this method aligns with the classic pre-Prohibition preparation, delivering a cocktail that is timeless and refined. The wait is almost over! Join us for the final Secret Supper Society event of 2024, The Casino Royale, next Friday, October 18th. 🍸✨ Step into the world of James Bond, where elegance meets danger, and adventure awaits at every turn. Channel your inner 007 and enjoy an evening of high-stakes gambling, martinis shaken (not stirred), and culinary delights crafted by none other than Chef Brian DePaulis of Elevated Catering Company. Upon arrival, you’ll be handed $5,000 in Robert Hall “funny money” to try your luck at classic casino games. If Lady Luck isn’t on your side—or if you’re feeling like a true high-roller—additional chips will be available for purchase. At the end of the night, exchange your winnings for raffle tickets, and you could win prizes worthy of Bond himself. The best part? All proceeds from the evening’s games will benefit Family Services, Inc., a Forsyth County nonprofit dedicated to protecting and empowering families, children, and individuals in need. Tickets are on sale for Secret Supper Society members now! There is no longer a limit to the number of tickets you can buy, so bring as many guests as you’d like and make this incredible night even more memorable. We are very excited about the opportunity to give the Win Cup Museum building a new life and purpose! William and Christy Spencer, and the rest of the team at Robert Hall, have future plans to utilize the former NASCAR museum as additional event space. We aim to continue to honor the automotive heritage and history of the building that was once the home of "The Nash Brown Coltrane Motor Co." Stay tuned as we work to rehabilitate and revitalize the building into something unique! #RobertHallWSNC | #WinCupMuseum | #WinstonSalem

We loved having the opportunity to host the Rotary Club of Winston-Salem's summer social last week! #RobertHallWSNC | #RotaryClubOfWinstonSalem | #WSNC
The Rotary is about improving lives and communities through humanitarian service and the advancement of peace and goodwill, but it’s also about getting to know your fellow Rotarians (and having fun while you do). The Rotary Club of Winston-Salem’s summer social took place in Robert Hall’s Capone’s Bar. Our members enjoyed good snacks, great drinks, and even better conversation. Here’s a video recap of the day courtesy of our fellow member, Cameron Bates of AFFIX Studio. #RotaryClubOfWinstonSalem | #WinstonSalem | #ServiceAboveSelf
