Happy October, friends! ✨🧡🍂 October is National Arts and Humanities Month (among many other important celebratory & awareness designations), and in Spokane we recognize the ways that the arts shape our local culture and sense of place & connection. Through the intuitive and impactful work of artists, we create our expressions of community. The theme for the Spokane Arts Awards this year was "Celebrating the Arts Ecosystem," for which we brought together the voices of 17 nominees across six categories of recognized impact - Collaboration, Imagination, Leadership, Inclusion, Arts Advocacy, and Youth Arts Leadership. We are so grateful for the time spent with the Manzanita House team, Yasmine & Nada's family, Ranim & friends, and meeting Mable from Myanmar... all while filming with Manzanita House @mhspokane this summer🌟 We were excited to be part of their first Garden Party last Sunday... It was a beautiful, inspirational event with incredible music, delicious food, wonderful people - and even lessons in other languages and a community loom activity & citizenship test! 🧶 Manzanita House is doing incredible things for immigrants and refugees in the Spokane area, and it was our honor to create videos with them. But they can't do it alone - their three program umbrellas of immigrant legal aid, family empowerment, and community engagement have served people from over 70 countries so far - and they could use your help. Back-to-school season is here, and #TeamRogueHeart is thrilled to highlight CCS Foundation’s amazing impact! 🎒 Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation provides over 100 scholarships each year and supports CCS's 20,000 students through emergency aid, helping students overcome barriers like child care and fees.📚 Supporting 120+ programs across a 12,302 square-mile district, their efforts ensure students can focus on reaching their potential. Our amazing client partner at CCS Foundation, Leah, had this to say: "I cannot tell you how much this project means to me! #TeamRogueHeart & friends shared an unforgettable evening at this year’s Sequins & Velvet fundraiser, hosted by MiA - Mujeres in Action at the Spokane Tribe Resort & Casino! From sparkly dancing to dessert dashing, the night was full of joy and celebration, all in support of MiA’s incredible mission. 💃✨ We are proud to stand with MiA as they continue providing life-saving, culturally responsive services to Latine survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Spokane.
