A non-profit dedicated to composting and food recovery by developing food products with leftover produce from businesses

About us

A non-profit organization that leads organic waste source separation and composting programs to fight mismanagement of organic waste. RoHo Compost connects regional compost facilities with New York City businesses, as an organic waste hauler. RoHo Compost also has food recovery and donation programs, including The Pulp Project. The project is currently working to turn food produce discarded by food manufacturers into sauces, dips, and smoothies. The project plans to distribute these products to low-income and food-insecure New Yorkers, as well as sell these products to individuals looking for products that are environmentally-conscious. The Pulp Project is currently working with East Coast Copacking, a food manufacturer that supplies RoHo with the food they discard for research and development. RoHo is also eager to work with any other businesses, organizations, or individuals that share RoHo's goal of containing and eliminating organic waste.
