About us
Rolling Plains Construction was incorporated in Colorado in September of 1984. Starting out with the application of Spray Applied Fireproofing, then expanding applications to include Spray Thermal / Acoustical Spray Insulation, Lightweight Insulating Concrete Roof decks, Fireproofing Board, Tunnel Board, and Industrial Fireproofing. With over 300 employees in 42 states we work hard to maintain the integrity in both our field applications and our estimating performance. We maintain a presence in the development of our national codes, in the standards process with both Factory Mutual and ASTM and in our local and national trade associations. We foresee the future trends requiring more of the specialty subcontractors and are working hard to maintain a high level of professionalism and knowledge.

To kick off #WICWeek2024, we wanted to share this photo that was taken six years ago on the last day at the RPC “Old Shop.” Shown in the photo are the daughters of RPC Owner Robert Shippy. His eldest daughter, Samantha, posted this photo in February 2018 and said, “Today was the last day at the ‘Old Shop’. Very bittersweet as 19 years ago, we would play and climb on the bags of material... Although the new place is totally badass, this building will always have a small piece of my heart. I sure am a proud daughter.” Fast forward 6 years, these women are still very much a part of the success of RPC. Samantha is now Lead Estimator along with Skye who is also an estimator. Rolling Plains Construction (RPC) has become a dominant name in the fireproofing industry through its dedication and hard work. The incredible growth that RPC has achieved since the closure of its old shop is a testament to its commitment to excellence. As RPC celebrates its 40th anniversary this September, we are inspired by its unwavering spirit and its contribution to fireproofing America over the past four decades.
