We’re excited to announce the expansion of our Parents as Teachers program to Iron County! This expansion will enable us to enroll up to 100 families across various communities including Cedar City, Parowan, Kanarraville, Enoch, Beryl, and surrounding areas. Our early childhood family support and parent education home-visiting program focuses on strengthening protective factors to ensure children from newborns to 5 years old are healthy, safe, and prepared for learning. Services include personal home visits, connecting families with community resources and groups, conducting child and family assessments, and providing developmental, hearing, and vision screenings. Eligibility is based on meeting criteria such as first-time, single, or teen parents, children with chronic health or mental health conditions, military families, ESL families, premature newborns, foster children, families affected by substance abuse, children with disabilities, and low-income families. This free program is sponsored by the Department of Workforce Services. For more information or to enroll please visit rootforkids.org.

We would like to give a huge THANK YOU to TDS Telecommunications LLC! Over 50 of their associates came out to our St. George Center to volunteer their time! The effort included painting 4 sheds, painting speed bumps in the parking lot, washing windows, cleaning playground equipment, assembling a playhouse and tricycle, mow the lawn, trimming trees and more. We are SO grateful for your time and service!

March is Trisomy Awareness Month. What is Trisomy, you ask?? When a person has an extra chromosome in most or all of their cells, it is known as Trisomy. Many health issues, from mild intellectual and developmental impairment to more serious physical issues, may be caused by an additional chromosome. Our Early Intervention Program helps families with children that have Trisomy and other physical or developmental delays.
