This global art initiative brings vibrant, oversized red spheres to major cities around the world, sparking curiosity and conversation. It was a fun surprise to see such a unique piece of art right around the corner from our home office in historic downtown Siloam Springs, Arkansas! Since joining Concordia in 2019, Angie has been pivotal in shaping the culture and vision for our Northwest Arkansas community. 𝐀 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 Beginning her senior living career in 2003 as a Life Enrichment Director, Angie developed a deep passion for enriching seniors' lives. Her enthusiasm for organizing parties and outings fostered a strong connection with residents, who quickly became family to her. This early experience solidified her commitment to ensuring seniors enjoy where they live! 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚 In early 2019, Angie joined the Concordia family as the Marketing Director. She was drawn to the Concordia’s family-like atmosphere and emphasis on neighborly culture. The Executive Director position became available in the fall of 2019- a natural steppingstone for Angie to be able to make an even bigger impact on Concordia. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 Angie’s diverse senior living background in Life Enrichment, Administration, and Marketing has shaped her holistic approach to leadership. She values each department’s role in Concordia’s success and strives to support each team effectively, ensuring that all aspects of the community operate harmoniously to enhance the resident experience. 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 Angie's vision for Concordia’s future focuses on innovation: integrating technology to improve residents' lives. Staff development and local engagement are also priorities, with plans for training programs, community partnerships, and growing volunteer programs to continue to build on Concordia’s connection with Bella Vista and Northwest Arkansas. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 Among Angie’s notable achievements is Concordia’s success through the COVID-19 pandemic. Her proactive measures ensured residents remained connected and satisfied while achieving growing occupancy at Concordia. Through her and her team’s incredible efforts, Concordia reached 100% census this year for the first time in its 50-year history! 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 One of Angie’s favorite memories is Concordia’s 50th anniversary gala, a highlight of the incredible events that Concordia is known for. 𝐀 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 What Angie values most in her role is making a meaningful difference in residents' lives. Her leadership style focuses on empowerment, coaching, and encouragement, aiming to make Concordia the best place to live and work. Angie's commitment embodies the spirit of Concordia, making it one of the most exceptional communities in Northwest Arkansas. Opening in 1971 as Mountain Park Convalescent Hospital, this state-of-the-art facility accommodated 180 residents and quickly became a model of excellence in the Portland area. John later replicated this model in towns like King City, Gladstone, and Oregon City. 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 (𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟬𝘀): In the early 1990s, John and his wife Sharon led a major renovation, transforming Mountain Park into an Assisted Living community. This forward-thinking move positioned Greenridge Estates among the earliest Assisted Living communities in the country. The renovated Greenridge Estates offered residents modern accommodations and exceptional amenities in Lake Oswego, making it one of Portland’s most desirable suburbs. 𝗔 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗺 (𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟬𝘀): In the early 2000s, the second generation of the Tonack family took over operations. As Assisted Living grew in popularity, this generation solidified Greenridge Estates’ reputation within the community, expanding services to continue providing incredible value to residents and their families.
