At Rosie’s Place, our wraparound help includes providing basic healthcare through our Wellness Center. Here guests receive unconditional support along with expert medical care. This wouldn’t be possible without the support of our partners at Boston Healthcare for the Homeless and Regis College School of Nursing who help us provide routine vital signs checking, blood sugar level monitoring, immunizations, dental referrals and more. Further, our Wellness Center hosts weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and wellness classes such as acupuncture, reiki and meditation. #wellness #partners #support

Rosie's Place was founded in 1974 as the first women’s shelter in the United States.
About us
In Massachusetts, 1 in 10 residents live in poverty. More than 15,000 people are homeless on any given day. And a stunning 1 in 3 adults are considered food insecure. Rosie’s Place addresses these critical needs by providing comprehensive, compassionate, immediate and expert support to every woman who seeks our help. The mission of Rosie’s Place is to provide a safe and nurturing environment to help poor and homeless women to maintain their dignity, seek opportunity and find security in their lives. Rosie's Place relies solely on the generosity of our individual, foundation and corporate supporters. We do not accept city, state or federal funding so that we can maintain our independence.

Did you know that nationwide, less than 2% of total charitable giving goes to women’s and girls’ organizations? Every year, Rosie’s Place provides a wide range of emergency and expert support to 12,000 poor and homeless women and their children. Today in Massachusetts, one in three households is considered food insecure. And women and families are the fastest-growing group of people becoming homeless in America. Today, 50 years after we first opened our doors, Rosie’s Place’s help and hope has never been needed more. Will you honor #GiveToWomenAndGirls Day by donating to support the women and work of Rosie’s Place at www.rosiesplace.org #supportwomen #joinus

At Rosie’s Place, we recognize that for many of our guests, asking for our help can feel like defeat. We counter this feeling with the compassion, dignity and comprehensive help we provide every woman we meet. For as long as we are needed, Rosie’s Place will continue to be a sanctuary and a safety net for women who, like all of us, want a quality of life that is stable and secure. #security #support #rosiesplace

With each passing day and each guest who walks through our doors, it is affirmed that the work of Rosie’s Place has never been needed more. #FlashbackFriday to our renovations of 2020 which has enabled us to welcome and serve more women in more ways than ever before. Today, our growth continues. Our Dining Room served 47% more meals this year than last year. The number of students in our Women’s Education Center has grown by 23%. And our Advocacy Helpline rings throughout the day with women seeking help to avoid eviction, to have utilities turned back on, to find housing in a Boston that has never been less affordable. #community #impact #growth
