Rota Golf is excited to announce golf photographer, influencer, philanthropist and World Record Holder, Patrick Koenig, as a Strategic Advisor. If you follow any golf account on social media, there’s a good chance they’ve used professional photography from Patrick. If you are a golf nut, you probably know Patrick is The World Record Holder for most 18 hole courses played in a year. 580!!! But what I have gotten to know about Patrick is his pure love for the game and a genuine way of doing business in the golf industry. He loves his job and wants others to experience incredible courses throughout the world, whether through photography or on course. Patrick will be supporting our sales and marketing initiatives at Rota Golf, giving us a massive boost in credibility and exposure. I’m excited for the future and what we can accomplish with Patrick’s support! https://lnkd.in/gBUU-qyV #golf #golfindustry #golfbusiness #sports #startup #entreprenuership

Here’s your weekly Rota Golf update! Our family e-commerce business is taking off… We started our first micro-influencer affiliate campaigns with two golf accounts. One account has over 190k followers! The other drove over 33k views and increased our daily site traffic by 10x in one post (just for the days following the campaign). We also have a product going into a notable golf meme HQ office. They’ve got 1M followers and will be highlighting the post on socials and YouTube shorts. A local men’s store is going to put our product on their walls, which is amazing because they highlight local artists and products in our small town of Gig Harbor. We’re planning some giveaways to increase followers of our own account, as well as more direct email campaigns targeting country clubs and the top 100 public courses in the US. Certainly, this isn’t without some roadblocks along the way… we’ve gotten consistent feedback about our high price point. We’re committed to being a high-end product line but are also looking into more skus that could be more approachable to the local golf traveler. Lots of progress in a couple of weeks! Stay tuned for more updates. This experience with my wife has just begun. #golf #golfindustry #ecommerce #familybusiness #marketing

Our first 3 weeks with Rota Golf have been filled with excitement and learnings. Here’s our key takeaways after launching the brand: Get over the fear of posting. Seems like I should have it down by now but e-commerce and DTC is just different. Putting out UGC and short form video is taking some getting used to. Result: We already had our first 10k+ view reel on IG! Find partners to increase awareness. There’s already tons of good golf content out there by accounts sharing details about the top bucket list courses. Not all are open to affiliate partnerships, so it’s a numbers game to get in front accounts. Result: We have 3 accounts with over 60k followers planning content campaigns starting next week! Align with strategic resellers whose audience aligns with your product. Getting into golf specific online shops will take things a step further when it comes to alternative sales channels. Result: We are close to signing with one of the industries largest communities of aspirational bucket list golfers and will have a product in their new online store. Coming up next: Paid ad campaigns Testing new creatives Building new map formats Excited to see how our optimizations and increased exposure increases sales! #ecommerce #dtc #golf #sportsmarketing #startup #entreprenuer

Co-founder at Rota Golf - Building products for golfers looking to cross off The Top 100 Golf Courses on their bucket list - E-commerce Operations Specialist.

Hello LinkedIn community! We are excited to announce the official launch of our new business, Rota Golf!    We are a premium golf memorabilia brand that inspires golfers to tackle The Top 100 Public Golf Courses in the U.S.  Rota Golf is not just a company; it's a vision, a journey, and a community. Our brand derives its name from the tradition of the golf rota, a circuit of prestigious courses hosting the Open Championship. When thinking of our name, we wanted to give every golfer an opportunity to come up with their own personal rota within the Top 100. Rota Golf couldn’t have been more of a perfect fit for the message we wanted to send. Our flagship product is The Centurion Map, a wood engraved masterpiece of the United States showcasing The Top 100 Public Golf Courses. Each custom piece is crafted with a free of charge option to personalize, stain and frame, making it your own and to inspire golfers to embark on their bucket list adventures, set goals, and elevate their game!  My husband Chris Shreeve and I came up with the idea to turn Rota Golf into a business after we wanted to find a golf statement piece for his office during our remodel. It started as just something special for him to track his rounds at the Top 100, however after countless golfers at our home course, Canterwood Golf and Country Club, said that they wanted one, we decided to give the people what they wanted! Starting a venture from scratch with your life partner can be scary but I am lucky to say that for us it’s been an incredible experience. We've encountered challenges, made mistakes, and learned invaluable lessons along the way. But through it all, our commitment to delivering excellence and creating a community of passionate golfers has remained unwavering. Rota Golf isn't just about products; it's about aspirations, challenges, memories, and connections. It's a place where golfers can share their Top 100 experiences, swap stories, exchange tips, and celebrate the magic of the game we all love. As we step into 2024 and the upcoming golfing season, we are filled with anticipation for what lies ahead and we can't wait to continue this journey with all of you! Join us as we tee off on this exciting adventure! Follow Rota Golf for updates, exclusive content, and a chance to be part of a new golfer’s community. #RotaGolf #GolfMemorabilia #Top100Courses #GolfingCommunity #GolfGoals #GolfTravel www.rotagolf.com

We are really excited to launch Rota Golf today! Shoutout to my wife Alicia Konkel who has been leading the development of our new golf product. My passion for golf goes back 30+ years when I first picked up a club. I was fortuntate enough to learn this great game from my father, who worked in the golf industry most of his career. Some of my fondest memories are playing golf with family and friends at some of the best golf courses in the world: Pebble Beach with my wife after the exit of my first company, St. Andrews after ICE London this year, Pinehurst for The Barstool Classic, Whistling Straits 3-weeks before the Ryder Cup. I wanted to commemorate those incredible experiences with a statement peice that I could showcase in my office but couldn't find a high-end product representative of those great memories. Cheap push pin canvas maps just weren't going to do the trick... Our goal is to allow golfers to track their travels across the country's Top 100 Public Golf Courses and use our Centurion Map as their ultimate bucket list. Whether it's for your office, a man cave, bonus room or as a gift for that hard to buy for golfer, we believe Rota Golf Maps will allow you to remember past experiences on the links and plan for new ones. We're just getting started and have a lot to learn about running an e-commerce business. For now, we are just going to have fun with it and do a little travel to cross off more courses on our list. Check out the site below and let us know what you think! Maybe we can even provide a coupon code for any LinkedIn connections wanting to add a piece of golf art to their walls... #golf #ecommerce #startup #familybusiness #bucketlist

🏌♂️ Golf business update ⛳ We've got our name, logo and prototype done, so we wanted to give an update into the good, bad and ugly of starting our side business! First off... i'd like to give you the first look into Rota Golf. The Open Championship "Rota" is the rotation of courses that professionals play during the oldest major championship in golf. When you think about it, all golfers have their own personal rotation of courses they have on their bucket list. We're creating a product for them. For the logo, we wanted a bit of an old world golf crest vibe while incorporating the essence of the product. It's clean, simple and also literal in a subtle way. Creating this product was not easy... It took us months to figure out how to build it just for myself before we ever considered turning it into a side business. It's not a mass produced product. It's more high-end art than a little gift you'd find on Etsy. Golfers spend thousands of dollars traveling to bucket list courses like Bandon Dunes, Pinehurst, Whistling Straits and Pebble Beach. We purchase hundreds of more dollars worth of merch at the pro shop, which we will undoubtedly lose, grow out of, get stained, etc. The goal of this product is to be the ultimate golfer's travel map, remembering their past golf experiences and looking forward to future memories made on the course. We're not talking cheap push pin canvas maps. This is a statement piece for your office, man cave or family room. We're finalizing content and copy on the site over the next week and launching the brand right in time for The Masters in early April. I am really excited to share all of the work my wife and I have been doing together. It's been so fulfilling to work on this with her, she'e leading the charge on the day-to-day basis while I keep growing Locker Room Labs. I can't wait to see where this takes us! #golf #ecommerce #startup #travel #bucketlist

I made my FIRST HOLE-IN-ONE at The New Course in St. Andrews, Scotland!!! After ICE365, my wife and I wanted to add an extra leg to the trip. Seeing as we’re creating a new golf product together, we thought The Home of Golf would be fitting. I thought this post would be about how amazing The Old Course was… the history, the scenery, the famous pubs, etc. But on the last morning of our time in St. Andrews, I got out on The New Course and the unbelievable happened. I’ve been playing golf my entire life. My whole family plays and I’ve been fortunate enough to travel around and play great golf all across the US. Getting a hole-in-one in St. Andrews will forever be my best golf memory. It’s almost poetic in many ways… my wife and I together, getting ready to launch a little side project, playing golf at The Home of Golf. Time to celebrate! #golf #linkedinsports #sportsbusiness #entrepreneurship

How do you take an idea and turn it into a product?? Making the jump from talking about an idea at the bar with friends and actually taking action is where most good concepts die. Our product idea was just simply something I wanted but couldn't find. There were no initial aspirations of turning it into a business. In a way, I am sure that's how a lot of good companies are probably started. My wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday one year. She would tell you I am the hardest person to buy gifts for because I either don't really care about presents or I buy all of the golf things that I want myself. Thing is... we couldn't find anything of the quality, look and feel that I wanted. After thinking about the concept for a year, I put it on the shelf because I couldn't wrap my head around how to make something so custom and intricate. Then, came my next birthday, so we looked around again. Still nothing on the market to meet my expectations. Finally, I realized it was just something I needed and began my research. Many production companies that I talked to said it would be too expensive to mass produce. The process of looking for raw wood materials was out of our comfort zone. Then... we were at local bagel shop and saw some really amazing woodwork with a business card. We found our local partner and the idea started coming to life. We thought the idea was dead, until it wasn't. I spent so much time thinking and talking about the product idea but never took action. Once I told myself to JUST START, we began to make progress. It doesn't cost money to start, so if you have an idea, see it through until you decide it's not feasible or maybe it is and now you're on to something. We are just at the beginning of this crazy journey but really excited to map out our progress and share the good, the bad and the ugly of starting a side-gig. #entreprenuership #startuplife #golfproducts #sportsbusiness

My wife and I are starting a golf-related side hustle and we are going to build it in public, bringing you content every weekend on our progress. Here's how it started... There were three major questions that we had to consider when taking an idea and turning it into a family side gig: - Is the product just something that I wanted for myself or is it actually scalable? Building a singular prototype is one thing, producing hundreds or thousands of products, creating distribution channels, and mass marketing a new product is another. - Do we have the time and energy to operate the business effectively in addition to our day jobs? My primary focus is Locker Room Labs and carving out precious evening, weekend and social time for another company meant we really had to commit to the new venture. - How does working with your significant other impact the relationship at home? We decided to set some very specific ground rules to ensure that we balanced time together as business partners and the rest of our free time in the relationship. Communication is paramount and our marriage is the priority, those are two non-negotiables. Over the next several weeks before the big website reveal, I want to talk about the challenges of taking an idea and turning it into a business. We will discuss building a brand, producing a highly custom and hand-crafted product, and how we plan on scaling the business. I am hoping to hear from other entrepreneurs who have created family businesses, started side gigs, or even struggled to get an idea off the ground. Let's build together, share ideas and turn these aspirational side hustles into sustainable businesses! #entrepeneur #startup #ecommerce #sportsbusiness #golfindustry
