When a four week job turned into three months due to constraints and weather delays #OneRoyal persevered, completing the Grissom Air Reserve Base Runways Project as efficiently and effectively as possible. Field Engineer Blake Andersen relished the opportunity to provide crucial support for the crew, saying that he was “so honored to have this opportunity and will continue to strive to be a true leader of this field!” As a United States Marine Corps veteran, Blake was also thrilled by the chance to continue serving the nation and the service members who defend our freedoms through his work with Royal Electric.

Project Engineering Interns Tony Romo and Kenny Vo had an incredible summer, impressing our Distribution Team with their enthusiasm, curiosity, and attention to detail. Not just working in the office, Tony and Kenny had the opportunity to visit a variety of pump station projects in the Bay Area. Under the expert guidance of their mentors, Project Manager Aurel Cris and Project Engineer Ulysses White, Tony and Kenny gained hands-on experience in: 🔧 Working with utilities, owners, and subcontractors - from communication and coordination to brainstorming solutions, Tony and Kenny learned the importance of teamwork. 🔍 Material quality control - they’ve been involved with ensuring every component meets our standards. ⚠️ Safety hazards - identifying and mitigating risks to keep everyone safe on-site. Including being proactive with essentials like cold water to keep crews hydrated and prevent heat illness. 💡 Understanding plans & specs - gaining a clearer picture of project requirements and execution. Thank you to our Distribution Team for their hard work and dedication this summer, exemplifying #OneRoyal’s mission in the process!

With work starting in January 2024, #OneRoyal’s Colibri Commons crew is on track to finish construction of this affordable housing community in September 2025. The 136 unit complex was designed to help meet East Palo Alto, CA’s housing needs for citizens earning between 30 – 60% of the area median income. Our tour begins with Building A where Foreman Electrician Frank Fuller shows interns electrical conduit and infrastructure installations in the concrete deck and vertical walls. Stay tuned next week.
