📰 #NEWS: Collins Aerospace was awarded a $904 million follow-on contract over five years for the US Navy’s Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) system. The CEC system has been successfully deployed on over 174 platforms, integrating sensors across various domains to support Integrated Fire Controls and the Navy's Distributed Maritime Operations. Since 1985, RTX has been the CEC sole provider, and this new contract will add new capabilities such as increased interoperability, expanded weapon and sensor coordination, and new data sources integration. 📰 #NEWS: Raytheon was awarded a $333 million contract from the US Navy to produce Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) Block IA missiles. SM-6 is the only weapon that can perform anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare and ballistic missile defense or sea-based terminal missions, enabling the U.S. and its allies to cost-effectively increase the offensive might of surface forces. "SM-6 has a proven performance, and this contract is an important step for providing this urgently needed weapon to our armed forces," said Barbara Borgonovi, president of Naval Power at Raytheon. "Raytheon continues to work closely with our customers to ensure our military has an unfair advantage at sea and to keep our adversaries guessing." #ICYMI: NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Parker Solar Probe recently came within 3.8 million miles of the sun’s surface, 10-times closer to sun than the orbit of Mercury. Equipped with Collins Aerospace’s active thermal control system, the probe wielded off temperatures of more than 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, enabling deeper understanding of the sun.
