During our most recent trip to Brooklyn, RW Digital and I hosted the amazing group of people from Klinic Kids. Klinic Kids shares our continued mission by building a carefully-crafted program from professionals, focusing on the transformative power of basketball for young lives. The curriculum instills athletic skills, but also principles of mental health and wellness. On behalf of the team and I, it was our absolute pleasure seeing everyone — students, staff and parents — showing love and supporting both the on-court team and our core values off of it. As part of Russell’s continued mission to uplift the underserved, we invited Klinic Kids to the Nuggets game in Brooklyn, recognizing their impact and amplifying their mission. Klinic Kids is a carefully crafted program that provides professional training and mental health skills through sports and wellness, intentionally targeting the social-emotional, academic, and behavioral needs of young people. We can’t wait to do it again next year with this wonderful group!

Back in high school, my friends and I would have fun doing a bunch of different stuff — throwing our backpacks, running in the street, hoop — and before we did them, we always looked at each other and asked ourselves a simple question: "WHY NOT?" After awhile, it evolved into more. It gave us confidence. It gave us a sense of meaning. Even swagger. Growing up in inner city Los Angeles, CA, we needed that. It’s become my mantra for everything I do. On the court, off the court, it doesn’t matter. It's a way of life. It applies to basketball, business and now, LinkedIn. I’d be lying if I said I saw myself being active on LinkedIn when I entered the league. But, as my basketball journey has evolved — with some hardware to bring with me — so has my business journey. Whether it’s Russell Westbrook Enterprises, the amazing work we’re doing in Los Angeles with the Why Not? Foundation, the strides RW Digital is making in the multicultural media space or what new collection my HONOR THE GIFT clothing line is crafting — I have more to say now than ever before. So, I’m excited to share I’m here for the long haul! I’m looking forward to connecting to a new audience, expanding on what I got going on off the court and giving my followers unique content you can’t see anywhere else. Because #WHYNOT?

Foundation that will initially serve over 400 middle and high-school students across the South of Los Angeles, with plans to grow to 800 already in-motion.
