4 years ago today, I started @rvacheesegirl in my one bedroom apartment as a little passion project. I was drowning in feeling misplaced in corporate America and was desperately looking for my “green light” in life @officiallymcconaughey 😉🚦 To my surprise, the idea quickly caught on and I knew then that I had found my next step. Starting a business is hard - I had no investors or mentors so I kept working my full time job as an insurance broker as long as I could. I used credit cards and savings for my start up costs and prayed I wasn’t making a huge mistake. I was getting to the kitchen at 5am to prep boards before work, doing all of my deliveries and pickups during my lunch break, replenishing inventory after I got off work, and working every weekend. My first year I took only 2 weekends off and one was for a family members funeral. It was nothing short of an exhausting time, but so incredibly rewarding to see the business slowly but surely grow. Since then, I have been afforded the opportunity to quit my full time job and fully devote myself to the business. Still no other employees or investors, so when you order, know that you’re still supporting a very small women-owned business. Every board made, piece of cheese + charcuterie sliced, utensil bag packed and delivery are still handmade by the owner. As I celebrate 4 years in business, I reflect on all of the amazing milestones achieved, people I’ve gotten to meet and lessons I’ve learned throughout this amazing journey. As many business owners know, it’s easy to get down on all I’ve yet to accomplish - a store front location, refrigerated delivery truck, offering wine, ect. However, today I’m choosing to put my to-do list to the side and celebrate how far the business has come in 4 years! 🥂 This business and brand would be nothing without you all who have supported me since I had a line of pickups wrapped around my one bedroom apartment parking lot 😂 All jokes aside - I can’t thank you all enough for each and every order made, time you’ve told a friend about the business and your continued support of @rvacheesegirl 🤍 As a thank you, use code: CHEERS4YEARS for 20% off all orders all day! Cheers to 4 years in business, with your help - I have a feeling this will be our best year yet 🥂🧀
