S2O Design and Engineering is the world's leading whitewater design firm. We specialize in both in-stream and pumped whitewater projects, and river engineering and restoration. S2O's principals served as lead designers of some of the world's most high profile whitewater projects, including the National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, N.C., the largest and most successful pump-driven whitewater course; the Lee Valley Whitewater Centre, venue of the 2012 Olympics; and Riversport Rapids Whitewater Center in Oklahoma City. The S2O Design team has designed and built a variety of in-stream recreation projects—including the Durango Whitewater Park (CO), Boise Whitewater Park (ID), Camphill River Park (Wanaka, NZ), and the Sun Peak River Master Plan (ID) — and has led numerous river restoration projects, including development of the San Marcos Whitewater Park (TX), which involved the redesign of a failed dam; the Canyon City River Master Plan, and St. Vrain Creek Watershed Master Plan (CO).

The Great Falls Whitewater Project in Chester County, S.C. was just recognized in Outside Magazine’s "36 Best Places to Visit in the U.S. for Adventure.” S2O Design and Engineering led the design and construction of this incredible project that brought water flowing down the 2.25-mile Long Bypass Reach of the Catawba River for the first time in 100 years.
