What a great #AUSA2024! One of our highlights was showcasing the new addition to our battle-tested AT4 family for the XM919 IAM program. The XM919 IAM brings together all the best capabilities of the IAM family, while reducing soldier load, training complexity and logistics burden. “At Saab, we continually adapt and improve our products to meet customer needs and protect the warfighter. Our new IAM solution enhances capabilities, removes combat burdens and is uniquely created to meet the U.S. customer’s needs,” said Erik Smith, president and CEO of Saab in the U.S. Learn more about the XM919 here: https://ow.ly/T7Yw50TNvmR

National Hispanic Heritage Month is observed each year from September 15 to October 15 and honors the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the nation's achievements. In recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we were thrilled to sit down with Senior Assembler Alejandra Mercado from our West Lafayette facility to learn more about her Hispanic heritage and her journey to Saab. Tell us about your job? I build sub-assembly parts for the T-7A Red Hawk trainer jet for the U.S. Airforce. My time at Saab has taught me new skills and knowledge. I'm grateful to be a part of this project. What does Hispanic Heritage Month mean to you? Hispanic Heritage Month makes me proud to be part such a beautiful culture. I love that we have a time to highlight Hispanic and Latinx individuals' achievements and contributions. It's very empowering to see individuals with similar backgrounds accomplish great things. Why is diversity one of Saab's greatest strengths? I think representation is so important. Keeping society safe applies to everyone regardless of your culture. The wide range of diversity gives us different viewpoints to consider. How can others support or participate in Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations? I think a good way to show support is keep informed and educate yourself of issues the Hispanic community deals with. Our communities contribute to society in many ways. How does Saab's mission of keeping people and society safe resonate with you? I think in today's world, safety is crucial. Feeling safe is something everyone should have access too. Safety makes our communities more positive and improves our quality of life. #IworkatSaab #HispanicHeritageMonth
