SFC Presents 2024 Webinar Series: Certifications for the Home Furnishings Industry B-Corp Certification Thursday, March 14, 12:00-1:15pm Certifications are more than just badges or logos on your website or product. They are a public declaration of your company’s values and a way to stand out from your competitors. They also help you attract and retain loyal customers who value transparency, trust, and quality. But how do you choose the right certification for your business or products? And how do you apply for and maintain it without wasting time, money, and resources? The first webinar in this series will focus on B-Corp Certification. Representatives from SFC member companies talk about why this certification is important for their company, the effort and process for achievement, and how this status represents their values and mission, and possibly affects their bottom line. Panelists: Kriss Kokoefer President, Re-Up Reupholstery by Kay Chesterfield, Inc. Emily McGarvey Director of Sustainability, Room & Board Phantila Phataraprasit Founder and CEO, Sabai Register at the link below! https://hubs.la/Q02k0T7f0

    Brand Development and GTM Strategy

Recently, my CEO, Phantila Phataraprasit, brought to my attention her concerns regarding our brand experience not meeting our customers' expectations. As the brand and storytelling expert, I was taken aback. After all, we had undergone a significant rebranding effort last year, which had sparked conversations, driven sales, and propelled our social presence to new heights. A recent slowdown in sales following a necessary price adjustment threw us into a momentary state of panic — where this question felt incredibly urgent. It was a sobering moment that prompted me to reflect on the essence of our brand experience and how we communicate it to our customers. Questions swirled in my mind: What elements on our website convey the legitimacy of our business? How do we instill confidence in our customers that they're making a sound investment when choosing Sabai? How does quality come through a screen when you're operating in the DTC landscape? These questions lingered until a pivotal moment at yesterday's conference, where an insightful remark from Rob Schutz (cofounder of Ro) resonated deeply with me. "Domains and handles are the original NFTs," Rob remarked. It was a simple yet profound statement that encapsulated the true value of these digital assets – not in what they are, but in what they signify: legitimacy, authority, and trustworthiness. This brought into focus the importance of our online presence, particularly our domain – sabai.design. While we had previously brushed off the idea of acquiring Sabai.com as non-actionable, Rob's words illuminated the potential significance of such a move. It also resonated deeply because I had just recently received *what I assumed was spam* an offer to purchase sabaidesign.com. And while the domain on offer does not carry the same cache as Sabai.com, I was able to snag it (at more than 50% off 😚 ) in a move that ultimately might be a meaningful win. For our valued Sabai customers, our digital footprint serves as the gateway to our brand experience. It's not just about aesthetics; it's about cultivating an environment of trust and reliability, where every interaction reaffirms their confidence in us. Recently, so many other furniture brands have let their customers down (see the WSJ article on $3k couches) that of course our target audience is skeptical! As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of e-commerce, I'm going to heed Rob's wisdom and ensure that every aspect of our brand experience, from our domain to our delivery experience, reinforces the narrative of Sabai as a brand they can trust and believe in. And come visit me at sabaidesign.com (*in like 24 because I still have to finalize the redirect lol)! Thanks to the DTC Experts for organizing such an awesome group of marketers and thank you to Adam Pritchard and Shehzad Khan for inviting to speak on your panel. I know I definitely learned a lot and hope Alexi George and I were able to share some fun thoughts too.
