March 22nd is World Water Day: Water safety is critical for food prep. Use clean, potable water to wash produce and cook food safely. And support the efforts to keep our public water safe.

March 21st is National French Bread Day: You can use pasteurized eggs when cooking with your children to prevent the spread of dangerous bacteria, like salmonella.

March 20th is International Day of Happiness: Safe food = happy meals (and not just at McD's)! Make your day brighter by practicing good hygiene and proper food storage.

March 19th National Poultry Day: When preparing poultry, use a thermometer to ensure it reaches 165°F. Avoid cross-contamination by using separate cutting boards for raw poultry and other foods.

March 18th is National Sloppy Joe Day: For this messy favorite, cook ground beef to 160°F and refrigerate any leftovers promptly to avoid bacteria growth.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the holiday staples: corned beef and cabbage and of course, green beer. Cook corned beef to 145°F and refrigerate leftovers within two hours to keep them safe.
