Safety Training Systems, Inc. (STS) is a custom engineering and manufacturing company specializing in designing and building training device structures, mechanical and electrical subsystems, engineering mockups / test beds and related assemblies for DOD prime contractors in the simulation, training, space and research industries. STS also specializes in the design and manufacture of custom Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP) Trainers, Door Trainers, Cabin Service Trainers, Cabin Mockups and related items for flight attendant training in the airline and air transport industries. A flexible, experienced management team utilizing current technologies continues its commitment to the production of quality equipment delivered on time. STS is an, ISO 9001:2015 certified and HUBZone qualified in business in Tulsa since 1980.

This high-fidelity C-17 fuselage mockup has been the cornerstone of Cargo Loadmaster training for the past three decades. Every single Loadmaster who has qualified on a C-17 in the last 30 years, has trainer on one of STS's CCT's! The CCT's realistic design featuring a cargo floor, cargo ramp & door, along with an active winch retrieval system that accurately simulates the C-17's operation and functionality, ensuring that Loadmasters are fully prepared for the critical missions they undertake.     Meet our featured employee: Norman Griffin, Production Planner Brief Biography: Norman joined Safety Training Systems, Inc., Inc 36 years ago this month as a production planner. He also worked in purchasing for a while starting in 1997 and is now a senior production planner. His duties include interpreting engineering drawings, generating purchase requisitions and manufacturing orders to procure, manufacture, assemble and install items on our devices. Norm holds four Associate in applied science degrees to include Drafting and Design from OSUIT, Okmulgee, OK, science degree from Conners State College, Computer Specialist for Business Micros from Tulsa Community College, and Industrial Engineering Technology, also from Tulsa Community College. Achievements and Contributions: ·        He has been involved in 750+ projects and counting. ·        He has been involved in the training of others and generally being the “go to guy” when looking for parts. ·        He possesses a keen memory of drawings and part numbers.   Personal Insights: Outside of work, Norman thoroughly enjoys sports, especially OSU, and is an avid car fanatic. Above all, his favorite activity is spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.     EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: Meet Kevin Poyndexter, Vice President of Operations at STS Tulsa Brief Biography: Kevin joined Safety Training Systems, Inc. almost 38 years ago as a drafter at the young age of 18 and worked his way up the ladder to Vice President of Operations. He studied Drafting and Design Technology in High School and then attended NEO A&M college in Miami, OK taking engineering-based classes.  Kevin has consistently demonstrated his dedication to the company and its success. Achievements and Contributions: -Has had multiple promotions over the years including Designer, Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and now VP of Operations. -Involved in more than 1100 Projects -Managed over 300 Projects -“I do what I can, when I can, for about anyone that needs it.” Kevin P.
