  • "Congressman Dan Kildee and Pamela Pugh, thank you for believing in the Community of Saginaw. Thank you for fighting for funds to help our hardest hit communities. Because of you, agencies like ours had the chance to do some of the most innovative and creative projects to address Food insecurities in Saginaw County. Our new Mobile Response Food Trailer is now being finished by a local vendor in our community and will soon be ready for operation! Also, with the help of ARPA funds (City of Saginaw and Saginaw County), new walk-in Freezers, and Refrigerated food storage units will be installed in a newly built 1,700 sq. ft. facility at our 2824 Perkins Location which should break ground for construction this fall! This is only the beginning... As we enter into our 60th year of service to Saginaw County, I am asking that our community stakeholders, businesses, churches, elected officials, neighbors, clients, and past clients jump in and help us raise $600,000 as our Capital Campaign Goal for our 60th year of service. Let's continue to rebuild Saginaw County CAC! Let's continue to ensure that institutions like Saginaw County Community Action (SCCAC) remain for the next 60 years!" - Hurley J. Coleman III, CCAP / CEO #Celebrating60years #ncap60 #saginawcac

🎓Congratulations to Leadership Saginaw County's Class of 2024! Last night the Chamber hosted a graduation ceremony for the group after they spent 10-months in the community awareness program. Thank you to Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge for the hospitality! This class did everything from meet with business leaders to driving cars on the Nexteer Automotive to serving lunch at the East Side Soup Kitchen. As a group, the Class of 2024 decided to support efforts at First Ward Community Service to resume food distributions. 🎥If you'd like a behind-the-scenes look at their endeavors, check out this video: https://lnkd.in/gJHjhvFd

  • THANK YOU TO OUR BOARD CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR! Since 2016, Mayor Brenda F. Moore and Dr. Barbara Jones have served on the Board of Directors for the Saginaw County Community Action Committee. Recently, our Board Chair, Brenda Moore, decided it was time to pass the torch to others to serve. "The time is now, I believe in this agency and the good it does for the community. I've served in this position for over 8 years and now I believe it's time to let someone else take it further", said Moore. The agency is grateful for her service. Although she has stepped down as the Board Chair, she will remain on the board as a committed trustee and voice of wisdom as the agency presses ahead. Also, Dr. Barbara Jones served as the Vice Chair and Committee Chair for the Personnel Committee for many years. Her expertise and wisdom have positively impacted the agency and we'll always be indebted to her time of service. Effective in July 2024, she will be retiring from the board and will focus on other areas in the community. We are thankful for her service!
