  • Celebrating Juneteenth: Embracing Freedom and Mental Wellness Today, we honor Juneteenth, a pivotal day in American history marking the end of slavery. On June 19, 1865, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, finally learned of their freedom—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is more than a historical milestone; it’s a celebration of resilience, strength, and the enduring spirit of Black communities. It reminds us of the ongoing journey towards equality and justice. The legacy of slavery and systemic racism has profound effects on mental health. Recognizing and understanding this history is essential for healing and growth. As we celebrate Juneteenth, we are committed to supporting mental health initiatives and continuing the fight against systemic inequalities. Together, we can foster a more inclusive and supportive environment for everyone. #Juneteenth #MentalHealthMatters #BlackHistory #FreedomDay #CommunityWellness #EndTheStigma #InclusiveWorkplace

  • Thank you to, FMSC for all that you do around the world. It was great to represent Sahara at this weeks packing effort. Every day, millions of children go to bed hungry. This isn't just a statistic; it's a stark reality that demands our attention and action. By volunteering, we have the power to make a tangible difference in these young lives. 🤝 Why Volunteer? Impact: Your efforts can directly improve a child's life, providing the nourishment they need to grow and thrive. Community: Working alongside passionate individuals fosters a sense of unity and purpose. Growth: Volunteering broadens your perspective, enhances your empathy, and strengthens your resolve to make the world a better place. Get Involved! If you have a few hours to spare, consider dedicating them to a cause like this. Whether it's packing meals, organizing food drives, or raising awareness, every bit helps. Together, we can combat hunger and give these children a fighting chance for a brighter future. Let's continue to work together to ensure no child goes to bed hungry. 🌍❤️ #VolunteerWork #EndHunger #FeedTheChildren #CommunityService #MakeADifference #GivingBack #TogetherWeCan Thank you, Aurora Hospitals, for organizing this amazing volunteer effort.

  • 🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈 June is a time to celebrate love, identity, and the incredible diversity of the LGBTQ+ community. But it's also important to remember that mental health matters, especially within our community. ❤️ 🏳️🌈 Mental Health Tips for Pride Month: Stay Connected: Surround yourself with supportive friends and allies. Connection can be a powerful tool for mental well-being. Express Yourself: Embrace your true self. Whether it’s through fashion, art, or simply being you, self-expression is healing. Seek Support: Don’t hesitate to reach out for professional help. Therapists, support groups, and hotlines are there for you. Practice Self-Care: Take time for activities that make you feel good, whether it’s reading, meditating, or taking a walk in nature. Educate and Advocate: Knowledge is power. Learn about LGBTQ+ mental health issues and advocate for better mental health resources. 💪 Remember: You are valid, loved, and deserving of all the happiness and health in the world. Let’s continue to support each other and make the world a more inclusive place. 🌍 #PrideMonth #MentalHealthMatters #LGBTQ #LoveIsLove #SelfCare #MentalHealthAwareness

The thing I think of so vividly this month is how incredibly important it is for those of us in the helping fields to make sure we are caring for ourselves too. It's all too easy to be so focused on everyone else that we can let our tanks run empty. Thank you to all our peers in the field.
