SLHA received a $750,000 CDBG grant from the Community Development Administration to support the Al Chappelle Community Center at Clinton-Peabody! This funding will go towards critical upgrades, including a new roof and HVAC improvements, helping us continue to serve the community.

Proud to share that last week, SLHA participated in an intensive three-day summit dedicated to addressing housing instability. It was an incredible opportunity to collaborate, strategize, and strengthen our commitment to supporting sustainable housing solutions for our community.

In session two of 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀, SLHA residents learned about building healthy credit! Big thanks to Justine Petersen for empowering our residents with knowledge on credit rules and consumer rights!

Yesterday, Clinton-Peabody hosted its monthly Community Listening Session, focusing on the highly anticipated redevelopment project. Residents began outlining their engagement agenda for the first quarter of 2025 and took advantage of the outreach provided by SLHA’s Resident Initiatives Department, along with our partners from SLATE, Employment Connections, and Catholic Charities. This week, SLHA and Justine Petersen kicked off the first session of the three-part ROSS University School of Financial Literacy course as part of the "Financial Tools Tuesdays" series. Participants explored budgeting basics to build a stronger financial foundation. ROSS University was created to support the St. Louis Housing Authority’s mission to connect public housing residents with services and programs that foster self-sufficiency. The university’s "schools" focus on essential areas like education, employment, digital inclusion, financial literacy, and health and wellness.
