Eid is the biggest celebration in the Islamic calendar and marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting. Eid will be celebrated at Queen Victoria Market on the 13th and 14th of April 2024. Come and immerse yourself in the diverse cultures that Muslims come from ranging from Africa, the Middle East, Turkey, Bosnia, South East Asia and the Subcontinent. We would like to invite everyone to meet with Aboriginal Yolgnu clan Elders from Arnhem Land including: - 'Djawa' Burarrwanga also known by his tribal name Djawa Djuwait, who belongs to the Gumatj clan. - Larry GURRUWIWI aka Morning star are custodians of Yidaki (Didgeridoo) is a Galpu clan elder from Arnhem Land Please join us to learn and hear from Aboriginal clan elders about: - Allah and Prophet SAW in their rituals - Quran coming before Bible or any other Scripture  - Muslims being the first visitors to Australia - Fair trade between Muslims and Aboriginal people long before white people came - Relationships formed on mutual love and respect between Aboriginal and Muslim people - Muslims are still part of Aboriginal oral history passed down to the next generation. Australian history is intrinsically connected to our First Nations people. The Muslim connection to the Aboriginal community through a 500-year-old trading relationship with the Makassar Indonesian Muslims. SalamFest is thrilled to be celebrating this historical milestone in Australian history with the SalamFest Muslim Arts Festival 2023.
