Salish Cancer Center is the culmination of a vision by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians and a values-oriented clinical team to offer health and hope to ALL individuals who have cancer. The creation of this world-class cancer center serves as a successful example of the future of oncological care.

    Meet Dr. Craig Peterson..... Naturopathic Oncologist | ND, L.Ac., FABNO Favorite Mantra: “Be tough, yet gentle. Humble, yet bold. Swayed always by beauty and truth.” – Bob Pieh Dr. Peterson was born in northern Minnesota and raised recreating and working in environmental stewardship of Minnesota’s many famous streams, lakes, and forests. Dr. Peterson has over 20 years of experience in traditional and complementary, holistic education program administration. Before his education, training, and career in naturopathic medicine, Dr. Peterson worked in outdoor education and had the great pleasure of guiding people on remote wilderness expeditions. Dr. Peterson has worked all over the U.S. and in various international locations. He continues to “sneak” out and teach outdoor recreation in his free time. Dr. Peterson is an Adjunct Faculty member at Bastyr University in Naturopathic Medicine, Acupuncture, and East Asian Medicine departments. In addition, he teaches didactic classes and supervises students at The Bastyr Center for Natural Health, the teaching clinic of the university.     Meet Cassie Lowe...one of our amazing providers. Acupuncturist | L.Ac., MSAOM Favorite Mantra: “Positive intentions result in a positive outcome.” Cassie is passionate about the Chinese Healing tradition, which includes acupuncture, herbs, diet therapy, and Qi Gong to the community.  Cassie works with cancer patients because they suffer so much, not just from the disease but from the conventional therapies. Although she has seen the benefits that cancer patients receive from acupuncture, it can be life-changing. These benefits are increased energy, increased appetite, reduced nausea, controlling pain, neuropathy, calming anxiety and fear, and regulating their body system.  Cassie loves working at Salish Cancer Center because she believes that Integrative therapy helps the patient’s cancer journey. Education: 1994 – University of Washington – BS, Biochemistry 2000 – Bastyr University, Kenmore, Washington M.S.A.O.M Board Certification: National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Diplomate of Acupuncture since 2001 Awards:  Bastyr University Presidential Scholarship Personal Interests: Cassie is married and has one daughter. She lives in Seattle and volunteers at many community functions such as Seattle King County Clinic, Big Climb-Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Lord’s Table Feeding homeless in downtown Seattle, and World Concern. In addition, she enjoys running, cooking, and serving with Children and Family Ministry Programs at church.

    Meet Dr. Krishnan.... Dr. Krishnan graduated from medical school in South India with honors and several gold medal distinctions. He completed an Internal Medicine residency and a Hematology and Oncology Fellowship at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. He is currently board-certified in internal medicine hematology and oncology. He has more than 15 years of experience in hematology and oncology. During his training, he was moved by the hardships the patients and family undergo with cancer. Dr. Krishnan’s passion is mainly equity of care for the underserved and underprivileged communities. He served underserved populations in India before moving to the USA. He has provided primary care to rural underserved populations In Tennessee before joining his Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology. Dr. Krishnan has expertise in treating various forms of cancers and blood disorders. Special interest in treating breast, lung, colon cancers, and lymphoma. Dr. Krishnan focuses on the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of the patient. His goal is to be a trusted partner in the fight against cancer. Dr. Krishnan strongly believes that prevention is better than cure and urges all his patients to get screened as recommended by the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He has chosen to move to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to his family and provide care for his father.
