This month's membership meeting is a joint meeting with Omaha, Rock Island, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Greater Kansas City SAME Posts! Representatives of the Corps of Engineers Omaha, Rock Island, and St. Paul Districts will be talking about the Upper Mississippi and Missouri Rivers flooding of 2024, their District’s response to the flooding and how they assisted their states and localities. Join us on July 18th at Can Can Wonderland for this year’s Society of American Military Engineers Minneapolis-Saint Paul Post Industry Day to network with federal government agency representatives, as well as small and large business teaming partners. This in-person event is a great event for members of industry and government to get together, network, learn, and golf! It is also our primary fundraising event for our Post STEM college scholarship and K-12 educational grant programs.

Please plan to join us, in coordination with the Minnesota Section of ASCE, at Gabe's Bar in St. Paul next week to hear "The History and Future of the Twin Cities Locks/Dams via the USACE Disposition Study", presented by Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR) and Owamniyomni Okhodayapi (OO).

Please join us on February 21 for a virtual presentation from Brian Yagle, Regulatory Ecologist from USACE St. Paul District on Jurisdiction and wetland/stream mitigation banking. 1.0 PDH will be available following the meeting.

Brian will present on MnDOTs new Resilience Improvement Plan, using the latest climate data to identify places where strategic investments will reduce climate hazard exposure, and Rachel will present past, present, and future initiatives for improving flood resilience. Arrive at 11:30 am to explore food options and settle into your spot in the Machine Room at Malcom Yards. At 12:30 pm the presentation will begin. See you then!
