Samuel Engineering, Inc. is excited to spotlight another expert from our modern fuels team, John Cotten. John has over 35 years of experience in the engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction (#EPFC) of projects in the downstream, midstream, and specialty chemical markets, including #hydrogen #syngas. The majority of the EPFC projects have been developed and delivered on a firm price basis, from process studies and proposals through mechanical completion. The first 12 years John spent in instrumentation and controls with an additional 5 years in project management. The balance of his 35 years has been in business development roles, emphasizing project development, proposal and estimate development, contract negotiation, and client coordination. He received his electrical engineering degree from Texas A&M University and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas. This week, you'll find Clay at the World Hydrogen North America conference in Houston! #WHNA24 Clay has excelled in the engineering execution of EPC projects in the downstream market, showcasing his strong background in the syngas industry. He has led process work on numerous hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and syngas projects, bringing innovative solutions and expertise to the table. Before joining Samuel Engineering, Clay held pivotal roles at EPC firms in Tyler, Texas, where he contributed to growth plans for expansion into the syngas and midstream industries. Notably, he was a founding member of a startup EPC office, where he developed workflow guidelines, engineering tools, and standards, and provided technical support for business development. Clay holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arkansas and is a Professional Engineer.
