  • One of the key issues facing the renewable sector is a lack of staffing. Many skilled workers choose other industries which yield higher salaries or are more profitable to the business. But the UKs recent incentive could help change that... The Government has unveiled details of a new ‘Clean Industry Bonus’, under which offshore wind developers can access enhanced financial support for delivering so-called ‘non-price factors’ such as job creation within the UK. Could this be the stimulant the UK needs to achieve ambitious net zero targets? Take a look at our blog to find out what this means for the UKs energy mix.

  • With the unprecedented growth of renewable energy in the past decade, many new forms of technology have emerged as leading options when planning and building new projects. Nuclear energy has emerged as a new promising method of farming energy with capabilities of outputting enormous levels of energy in short spaces of time. Whilst Solar and Wind tend to lead the way in todays market - should we be focusing on alternative methods, rather than doing more of the same? Let us know your thoughts 👇

  • Battery storage is arguably the most important element to the energy transition. Something the USA is doubling down on recently as Connecticut adds new commercial incentives to its energy storage program! Incentives include the launch of Tranche 3 for commercial and industrial (C&I) incentives and the reallocation of 140 MW from the residential sector to C&I to align with rising demand. This shift aims to accelerate the program’s goals at a lower cost while benefiting more C&I property owners. Companies like Tesla have also implemented plans to increase battery storage throughout 2025! How important do you think the growth of battery storage is to net zero?

Today, Samuel Knight turns 11! A message from our CEO Steve Rawlingson "It feels like yesterday when the idea and concept of Samuel Knight International was born from the dining room table of my home way back in 2014. Over the last 11 years we have come along way from raising institutional Investment back in 2019, launching Samuel Knight USA with Kenzie Morris and David Allen in the middle of the global pandemic whilst also increasing our global foot print with project manpower and professional recruitment solutions. I would personally like to thank our global community of clients and candidates who continue to work with us and all the staff of Samuel Knight International across the group who continue to add real value to our community. A special thank you to the board of Directors who inspire me every day with their tenacity, innovative ways of working and desire to be the very best. 2025 and beyond sees the business continue to scale with the recent launch of Samuel Knight Data Centers whilst also strengthening the board with the hiring of Paul Beeke our new chairman. Myself, Dan Kerr, Lisa West and Rob Enright remain 100% focused on the task in hand in terms of continuing to build out our amazing business over the coming years and thank you all for the support and belief in Samuel Knight. Thank You" Steve Rawlingson, CEO & Founder

  • Trump has immediately made an impact since being reinstated in office. One of the many changes is the recent tariffs on China, Mexico and Canada imports. The tariffs impact the renewable industry in the short term but may offer benefits in the long term. China being one of the largest exporters of solar components worldwide, and Mexico being a large contributor to the American wind industry. Does this present a great opportunity for American companies to ramp up production on home soil to capitalise on price rises and inflation?

  • The USA response to recent Trump tariffs has been huge - and its a subject we've covered a lot! ES Foundry, an American company onshoring crystalline solar cell production, recently celebrated the grand opening of its “cutting-edge” manufacturing facility. The 400,000 square foot facility will employ around 500 employees by June 2025. ES Foundry could become the largest producer of high-quality crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) solar cells in the United States. The facility is expected to reach a shipment capacity of 3 gigawatts (GW) by Q3 2025. Is a domestic Solar Supply Chain starting to take shape in the USA?
