Our hearts are with the three SDFD firefighters—including one Battalion Chief and two Captains—critically injured while responding to Hurricane Helene. FirefighterAid has set up a fund to support these brave individuals and their families as they navigate this unimaginable crisis. 100% of donation proceeds will directly support their recovery and care needs. Every contribution makes a difference. Thank you for showing these heroes the same dedication and strength they’ve shown our community.

Meet Ray McKewon, President of Xceptional Music Company, and a dedicated member of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Foundation board. Ray's journey with the Foundation began after witnessing the devastation of the Cedar Fire, which deeply impacted our community. This inspired him to give back, helping to equip local firefighters with a donated fire truck. Today, with nearly 20 years of service on the board, we’re incredibly grateful for his unwavering commitment. Ray sees the Foundation's most critical role as filling the gaps where city funding falls short, ensuring our first responders have what they need to save lives. He believes the future lies in growing a strong base of engaged donors, and his message to supporters is simple: "Your donations save lives."

Meet Christine Moore - A Dedicated Advocate for First Responders Christine Moore, the executive director of external affairs at AT&T, the provider of #FirstNet - America’s public safety communications platform, has been instrumental in leveraging technology to enhance the work of first responders. Her close collaboration with public safety partners has allowed her to witness the transformative power of technology in improving outcomes for first responders. Late last year, Christine’s family faced an unimaginable crisis when her mother suffered a massive seizure and stopped breathing. In that terrifying moment, Christine performed CPR while her husband communicated with 911. The swift response from the #SDFD and #SDPD was nothing short of miraculous. Their expertise and commitment saved her mother’s life, giving Christine and her family six more precious months with her before she passed away in April. Experiences like these drive Christine’s dedication to continually learning and communicating how to better serve local heroes. Having a son who is a first responder also fuels her passion for service to those who give so much of themselves to protect and care for our community. We are incredibly grateful to have Christine on our board. #FirstResponders #CommunityHeroes #PublicSafety #Gratitude #SanDiego #firefighters
