Muni ridership continues to climb, and broke 500,000 average weekday boardings. Compared to 2018, our systemwide average ridership recovery is over 74%. Looking into the details, we see remarkable shifts in travel behavior: - Due to work-from-home, SF lost a huge number of downtown office commuters. Montgomery Station, in the heart of the Financial District and previously our highest ridership station, is at only 28% of 2018 ridership. - Losses in office commute ridership, however, are offset by big increases in non-office travel. Our 22-Fillmore and 49-Van Ness lines exceed 140% of 2018 levels. These lines are driven by medical, school, leisure, and non-office commute trips. - Overall weekend ridership is at 92%. Due to special events, some lines have exceeded 200% of 2018 weekend ridership. - Make transit fast, frequent, reliable, safe and clean. - Source data: https://lnkd.in/dgC8eNpH https://lnkd.in/gCWgfQrs

Yesterday we published the SFMTA's first Accessible Transportation Needs Assessment. The assessment celebrates decades of progress ensuring Muni and SF's larger transportation network are inclusive and safe for everyone, especially people with disabilities and older adults. It also, most importantly, identifies what remains to be done. San Francisco residents and visitors can contribute to this exciting work by completing the Needs Assessment Survey. The results of the survey will help us understand which needs to focus on. This way, we can develop goals and actions for improving accessibility in the next five years. Links to the full assessment and survey are in the comments!

Join us Saturday, Sept 28 for the return of L-Taraval trains, running on completely upgraded infrastructure. Working with utility agencies, we've replaced antiquated sewer, water, and overhead power lines. We've made train stops and intersections safer and more accessible. We've added new art, landscape and lighting. And the trains get an entirely new trackway, replacing wooden sleepers laid atop the original sand dunes of the neighborhood. Utility replacement work at this scale created unavoidable disruptions to residents and business owners in the corridor, and we thank them for their patience during the construction period. With train service returning, there's never been a better time to shop and dine in the neighborhood. Come support the Taraval corridor at: Taraval Night Market Beach Party this Saturday https://lnkd.in/gxKFRurz Movies on McCoppin, every Friday in October at 23rd and Taraval And other events sponsored by People of Parkside Sunset https://lnkd.in/gBUrUsC9
