Exposure to a commercial kitchen, high-quality instruction and real-world culinary experiences led him to discover his dream career. Dyer-Kelly Elementary School shared their favorite parts about their campus for this ModMonday! Completed in 2019, Dyer-Kelly’s new campus has become a hub of activity for students, families and staff alike. Encina High School teachers and staff are sparking creativity and inspiration as we kick off College Week! 🎉 Students are getting hands-on experience exploring their futures through a fun door-decorating competition. Once a newcomer himself, Aref Asimi, now the supervisor of San Juan Unified’s newcomer support team, is leading efforts to help newcomer students and families succeed in their new community. Starting as a bilingual instructional assistant, Asimi’s dedication, combined with mentorship from district leaders, paved the way for his journey from classroom support to leadership.
