🏗️ Reminder: Sankofa Wellness Center Groundbreaking Ceremony is TOMORROW 🏗️ At the heart of the Sankofa Wellness Village, the Sankofa Wellness Center is coming to life! 🎉 This community health center will serve 6,000 patients of all ages, offering: 🩺 Primary Care 🦷 Dentistry 🧠 Mental & Behavioral Health Services But that's not all—this center is designed by the community, for the community! Neighbors will also have access to community spaces, a café, fitness facilities, a gymnasium, and childcare while visiting. Did you know that, according to West Side United’s Metrics Dashboard, 46% of West Siders do not have easy access to fruits and vegetables. CGI aims to change that. CGI is a community-led movement aiming to bring new grocers, healthy food, and nutrition options to our neighborhood. Rooted in Black Culture Wellness, this initiative is driven by the Garfield Park Rite to Wellness Collaborative (GPRWC), the Garfield Park Community Council, Kearney, and West Side United. Through ongoing community planning, engagement, and shared accountability, the CGI is ensuring that the voices of residents are at the forefront.
