As our IT Procurement Coordinator, you’ll work closely with management and the IT department to assess and meet the technology needs of city departments. Responsibilities include generating and managing IT budgets, maintaining and updating an inventory of assets, and assisting with purchasing and managing IT assets. The role involves coordinating procurement contracts, developing proposals, creating purchase requisitions, and maintaining consumable levels. The coordinator will also manage AS400 I-Series performance, establish vendor relationships, negotiate prices, and oversee supply and delivery. Additional duties include managing surplus inventories, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and maintaining detailed records. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in computer technology, hardware, software, and applications used within City departments, along with a solid understanding of procurement processes. Strong skills in Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe software are essential. Attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to make informed decisions quickly are crucial. The candidate should be skilled in setting and achieving goals, generating alternatives, and making strategic decisions. Strong interpersonal and learning skills, the ability to organize work and prioritize tasks, and clear, concise writing skills are also necessary for success in this role.
